It's understandable that barrier champions are hard to kill, but when it comes to servitors, there's an unholy, sadistic level of frustration when they make other adds invulnerable while hiding behind many layers of cover.
While I get that the servitor beam looks like a line of sight tether mechanic. The fact that during 1250 and 1280 Lost Sector challenges, the servitor beam regularly IGNORES line-of-sight (LOS) and in-game world Object Collisions in general makes for an insanely frustrating gameplay experience.
Not only do Barrier Servitors safely teleport away from danger and get to hide behind cover, but I can't even touch the adds that are guarding it because they're invulnerable through walls.
Although I've many, the single worst experience I've had with seeing the immune beam clipping through walls is when I was chased by 4 immune Wretches in Garden Exodus 2A. When I ran behind a large shipping container, cutting off LOS behind two apparent walls, the Wretches stayed immune and caught up to me. There was nothing I could do but stand there and die while in 'cover' and that was pretty much gameover.
Yes, Bungie I know you want these challenges to stay challenges. But I'm sure there's a way to fix these tether mechanics that will actually make the game feel fair and less like a kick in the pants when I'm already down.

Supers ignore immunity from servitors
-
The 1250 concealed void lost sector! The servilor teleports under the floor into the vex milk while the shield activates. This of course forces you into the open where you get slaughtered. Then the overload champions who teleport into a corner or behind cover and constantly regenerate while not even moving. Never again!
-
I just freeze the sevirtor. Or focus on adds 1st easy
-
I don't know why, when they can pass through cabal/taken phalanx shields, taken vandal bubbles, vex hobgoblin regeneration fields and hive knight shields, anti barrier rounds don't go through the servitor shielding provided to its allies, it should especially since servitors are anti barrier champions.
-
This is ridiculous. And the worst part: looks like bad programming, not intentional
-
I had the same issue today. Also made a topic about it and didn't get any meaningful responses. To make matters worse i had exploding Shanks going trough solid objects. I was standing on top of a small bulding within the same lost sector, Regaining health and reloading weapons until suddenly exploding Shanks came trough the ceiling of the building and killed my ass.

Was doing the 1280 Empire Hunt this week and a Servitor Champion was under the floor (immune to any damage) and still shielding the dregs and Shanks above them. Had to wait until the Servitor teleported above it before we could continue. Same thing happened in 1280 Nightfall this week at BroodHolm - including Unstoppable Ogres that refused to stagger (shooting them with Unstoppable rounds only after they hilighted too). Complete trashy untested game play.
-
I think its proximity not line of sight that the servitor protects.
-
Yeah I have to agree that the immunity given to enemies by the champion servitors should break instantly when line of sight is broken.
-
Usr your super..it will bypass the shield/tether the servitor gives the trash mobs.. I do dislike the fact the tether can shield enemies through walls..annoying to say the least..
-
They really picked the most obnoxious Fallen enemies to become champions. Servitors get to shield themselves and others around them making both parties unnecessarily more difficult to kill, and now they cna continue shielding through walls. Then you get Captains playing tag with their teleport feature until you get annoyed enough and turn it into literal freeze tag because overload weapon mods are a joke.
-
Just kill the servitor.
-
I totally get you, the champion system is good, but it feels glitchy
-
Overload champs are the ones for me... I can deal w the servitor, but them shifty overload regen champs are annoying
-
Yeah it sucks If it helps, your super can still damage the adds even if they're shielded
