I am constantly getting intermittent crashing errors and it is driving me nuts. I have tried suggestions from several other forums posting with a similar issue and none of them have done the trick. I am hoping to get some additional insight here as the game is practically unplayable for me at the moment.
For some context, I have not played Destiny 2 in roughly 2-3 months, but wanted to hop back in with the release of Into the Light. I was never experiencing crashing before (same machine/setup) but I cannot say 100% the latest release is the problem given the length of my hiatus.
Issue:
My game intermittently crashes with the broccoli error code. This can happen within 10 minutes of booting up the game, or it can go an hour or so before it happens. Additionally, it can happen at seemingly any time, regardless of computer stress levels - in orbit, in missions, in menus, etc.
Hardware/Software:
- 3080ti (latest drivers installed via GeForce Experience)
- i9-12900k
- 32GB DDR5
- Game installed and running from M.2
- Ethernet hardline with 1 GB download speed
- 4k LG TV with Nvidia GSync enabled
- Windows 11 (all Windows updates installed)
- No issues with SFC/scannow
- No issues from MemTest64, FurMark, or HDDScan
Nothing is overclocked and all drivers are up to date per Windows Update (including the optional drivers).
Failed Troubleshooting:
- Lowered FPS cap all the way down to 60 (was running great at 120 before).
- I've tried with Vsync off and on.
- Verified file integrity.
- Completely uninstalled and re-installed.
- Disabled steam overlay.
- Not opted into betas for the game or Steam.
- Disabled steam input for controller settings (from another thread on the forum).
- Ensured Windows gaming settings are running the game in high priority/high performance.
- Ensured nothing is overclocked.
I am about at my wits end here. My hardware is all in excellent condition and I have no problems with any other games, including ones that are significantly more graphics intensive.
The one extremely weird thing I have noticed (and no clue if this is relevant) is that when it crashes, I also sometimes get a weird Windows notification popup letting me know a browser extension has also crashed, despite not having any browser open. e.g. it will say Ghostery or uBlock Origin crashed in Microsoft Edge. When gaming, I do not have any other programs open or running and I have never seen this popup any other time when playing other games or just using my computer in general.
Any help or insight here would be appreciated as this is essentially making the game unplayable for me.
