Dang, I leave the post alone for 3 hours and this happen maybe I should write one of these polls more often. Great stuff all around keep it up this is community Gold everyone having a reasonable conversation over a simply question.

It's the "Scholars" of the lore tab... not Zodleon, they're cool... but if you make a lore post or comment on a lore post... 😅 Well, you've seen it. Many of these people don't even play the game, how could anyone not question Mara Sov's motivations and credibility after this season? But "they" refuse to acknowledge it... that there's any doubt. About maybe a year ago... I started researching the lore; waded into the lore tab... it's a trip. Cool creative people too... but geez, the most toxic people in the community probably are these "lore scholars". The narrative isn't playing out like they predicted... so now everything is retconned. The feel duped and project that disdain onto others.

Other guy seemed game tho, so it was fair imo. If they said it was bait, I'd say it was a master (insert other words here bungie censored the combination) and applaud them. And yeah, I swear some of those guys are as bad as the bad side of pvp sometimes. The lore ppl can be really intense sometimes for no reason. The lore is a wild place, though. Especially over the last year. And I still want to know wtf ghosts even are.

they are part of the traveler light a physical shell for part of whatever power drives the machine. Answering only to some unknown master of master's within it but who to say what the ghost is even they do not know themselves who made them.

Why do they have sentience and personalities? If the traveler could make those surely, it could do more, like make a vex like artificial guardian. as the darkness just assimilate species, could the darkness be used to create ghosts if it's just an opposite paracausle force to light. Is it pieces of the travelers own mind if it is a higher intelligence. I have so many questions about ghosts because of how integral they are, but we know next to nothing about them other than they are conduits for light and the traveler made them, or at the very least released them. If you don't already know, check out the lore on drifters ghost it's a fascinating bit if lore

I enjoy a good debate on lore now and then but mara. If I had a dollar for everything people think about her on here, I could retire before 40 and enjoy it these lore nuts make me laugh much like a certain someone in lore saying how your sister right before he died and the community does not see the hidden meaning to what he said.

Did you see the leaked image? That is an important moment. 100%. I think that's when (the image) we find out why Cayde said that. I swear I'm not making it up... I've focused on that exact moment, and predicted we would see the foil between Cayde and Uldren come full circle in the revelation of Mara Sov's corruption. I predicted and believe that leaked image IS that moment.

Until recently, most I believe, thought that Cayde was just being a "bravado" (I wanted to use a different word) bad*** in his final moments. Cayde's version of "FREEE-DOM"! He knew about Mara.

My guy, at that point in the story Mara was percieved as dead or at least MIA after the taken war. Cayde does not know of us killing Uldren nor does he know of Crow, most likely the leaked scene is simply Cayde going for who, to him, is the man who gave him his 'final' death. It really is not as complex as you want to believe it is.

Cayde was part of the Echo Protocol... that's why I predict the first episode in the Final Shape is called "Echoes" and is a direct continuation of the conclusion of the main campaign. If Cayde was part of the Echo Protocol... he knew this is an instance of special relativity... a simulation, and he knew about Mara. That's my theory.

Actually, we have some of this lore from when we got the aegers scepter, I wish I could tell you verbatim, but I don't remember it very well. Long story short, she basically pavloved him into being co-dependent, and that's why he kinda went nuts in forsaken. She did that because she's basically a pathological manipulator who thought it'd be best for him, because when doesn't she think she's right before it fails.

And they spent billions of years in the distriputary like that. It'd mess anyone up. He's actually a really sad character. He basically was never his own person until he became a guardian.

He did come off as a bit whiney, but I'm personally willing to attribute that to screentime. While they are doing much better, story wise, there really are still only like 3-6 short story heavy tidbits per season. a lot of that was expounded upon in the lore, but that was d1 and d2 y1-3s problem.

They both have a crazy mom (whether my theory is true or not, Osana was a terrible mother)... and I think Mara has always used and abused her brother. I have sympathy for Uldren. And he resisted his sister once, he can do it again... he can make the choice to stand on his own. Will he? We'll see 😇👍💠. I'm excited to see how it all plays out.
