Who in the right mind would want lake of shadows to be this long and boring and now inconveniently complicated.
Thank you streamers who solely rely on twitch donations to live and needed longer streams to get their view counts up.
Change it back, who amongst you genuinely wants 2 whole extra objectives and even more enemies in a already revamped strike which was supposed to be the relaxing easy strike to get farms when you didn’t want to spend 45 minutes in one grandmaster or just didn’t want white knuckle difficulty.
Hands down this is the worst revision to any activity in the game, maybe only second to the constant gambit reworks but at least gambit is enjoyable. This is bad, very very bad.
For all the geeks trying to defend this change…..please explain the lore of how the very first strike in the game already has pyramid technology before we even got to io or Nessus, before we even fought the scorn and before we even knew the witness was a thing

Holy sheet, noh wai manh tat canno bi lol It sucks?!? *Gasp* You don't say, tell me something I don't already know. Lake of shadows was a joke on launch and still is today, even with the rework nothing has changed. It's just more mediocre than before even the gm went from stupid easy to just plain stupid. But that's just bungie for ya they ruin everything cause they can't read the room and see what the playerbase actually wants. They're too focused on profit and not enough on what we actually want.
-
Imagine cheesing lake of shadows lol

Edited by Motorhead England: 4/29/2024 8:52:29 PMI'm surprised that they didn't include a boss that could only be killed by using original weapons that we were forced to dismantle in the dark days of sunsetting.
-
Yeah, it was a terrible rework choice.
-
OG Lake was sooooo much better. You took a strike that people got exited about when it’s in the rotation…now everyone groans like it’s time to mow the lawn or rake leaves…..
-
i haven’t seen much complaining about it myself, but i imagine if there was, it wasn’t from content creators. most posted that it was a super fast and easy grandmaster to farm.
-
This is just another case of wasted resources! He'll not even strike specific loot!
-
-
I don't see a single streamer say something about it . They all follow bungi like brainfarts . So bungi has no reason to change it because they only listen to streamers .
-
Oh, simple, it is a different strike now. Just like the Arms Dealer that takes place ages after the original one.
-
Edited by Coal: 4/30/2024 7:31:05 PMThe nightfall (more specifically the GM) was previously a joke. They changed it to make it on-par with other GMs. It really isn’t that big of a deal.

I came back to Destiny 2 after a few months break. I used to run Games weekly, or at least attempt to, but I can’t be bothered to care about them at all now. They are, in my opinion, so unrewarding for the time and investment. I’d rather fly through the Vanguard playlist. At least it’s fun and I can experiment with stuff

Gms in general feel like a chore they never been fun the whole artificial difficulty is just boring rather have interesting things and challenging mechanics then be a glass pea shooter because there idea of difficulty is you do less and take more
-
If the boss cheese didn't exist, no one would play it.
-
I dont know anybody who thinks the revised version is better than the original. Master is even worse than the GM with the attrition modifier.
-
Uhh.. Dude Lake of Shadows only takes 20 minutes. 15 if you put it down on the meatball with heavy. I mean it's not the 6 minute strike it used to be, but 15 minutes isn't that crazy as far as strikes go
-
Agree it needs changing back… so needlessly long now

"Bringing challenge back to Destiny" just means inflating health pools and forcing increased wait times on objectives. Whoever decided this was a wise decision should no longer be making decisions. Here is a thought, if clearing a GM in 8 minutes is undesirable to you as a company, then simply stop adding it to the GM rotation. Or alternatively you could just acknowledge that sometimes you need to throw a bone to players that want to start doing GMs or a fast farming one for the hardcore players. I get that having challenging content is important on the top end, in fact I prefer having the option. But sitting on a timer for several encounters is tedious and increasing health pools just makes it take three times longer than it should be. Really not looking forward to how they are going to massacre the Inverted Spire and Exodus Crash strikes they have been working on, if this is the quality they are going for. I have given up gilding Conqueror because of how terrible they are and the loot is rarely worth it.

This kind of behavior from bungie is exactly why they can stick the final shape in a dark place . l used to really enjoy the gm"s . then came battlegrounds and they just kept getting worse. l did gilded 5 seasons in a roe and each season it was worse. now they can keep there game. they completely ruined why I would of paid to play it. I'm just here until the final shape . don't care for bungies idea of fun .
-
This was once one of the most entertaining Nightfalls (had high replay value imo) now it's just one more reason to just not play this game anymore. I agree revert the changes.
-
Blame the guy who said this is to easy oh wait it someone at bungie who said it.
-
Ahh the good old streamer scapegoat seems to still work......when it was Bungie who changed it and near enough everyone hated it. The Arms dealer was just as awfully changed. An if you want a lore angle. Calus's Shadow Legion to put it simply.
-
I firmly believe that the change to lake of shadows was purely done to prolong gameplay and milk more login hours from players, it was a completely unneeded change with malicious intent. Most big companies nowadays prioritize keeping players logged in over making fun and quick content, this was also evident with lightfall and how much much bigger healthpools enemies had when LF came out. Nothing can be quick and enjoyable anymore, everything has to be somewhat of a slog for "meh" rewards. If rewards were amped up to 11 with the increased time investment then i would honestly have 0 problem with them changing lake of shadow or adding longer content in general.
-
And I thought I was the only one who hates that crap.

I'm realizing how some of the remade old strikes with added elements as well adding a bit ore lore just to not make a new boss enemy and keeping the very same path and mission, literally doing very minimal changes of the core strike mission. But indeed they do oddly feel much longer to complete, and sometimes a bit crazy on enemy density. I often solo drop in auto piloting players that hustle bust speed run the mission for a long time to now. This can get more ridiculous if Bungie gets asked to make them even longer just by demands of streamers but also agreeing to some of the other comments. Milking more logins and hours. Any more artificial lengthening can seriously tire out everyone else like me. Honestly Bungie always misses out the idea of making solo strikes that's built lighter and allows for those who want to go speed run or take their time having fun.

They did unspeakable things to that pooch with the addition of the payload. With that said…the dreaming city beckons…🤦♂️🤌😂😭
