Hand Cannons

This is not a nerf them post, you can relax. I feel like the Aggressive Frames are lacking in terms of usability. The only Aggresive Frame I feel like is a stable one is the Iggy Hammer. It feels miles better than the rest of them and the perk pool is A-1. What could be improved with them?? I would take a reload and ammo buff to be completely honest. I feel reload is such a non benefit for advantageous gameplay that it could easily help the ones lacking feel a little bit better. The Adaptive Frame need to return to having a RPM of 150s. Precision Frames are fine in my book but a reload buff could be beneficial as well. I think the main issue is the first and second column of having ONLY barrels and magazines versus having barrels, sights and magazines. Another issue is the mods which again can be aligned as a problem for ALL versus some. We are long overdue for some new in the weapons department. I suggest bringing back old perks and adding them as mods while taking the current ones that are lacking and doing the same. Perks, Magazine and Barrel Options such as Mulligan, Underdog, Drop Mag and sights could be extremely beneficial for the sandbox as mods, additional intrinsic perks or as needed on weapons. I know this was suppose to be a Hand Cannon post but I feel the entirety of weapons are in a dire need of improvement.

  • they ought to do something about the reload and handling on the 120s, cause they just feel awful to use they ought to do something about the reload and handling on a few archetypes actually

    • I can’t use hand cannons in this game, because they have the range of shotguns in other games. It feels so god awful. IRL, a 9mm pistol can reliably hit a target at 80 meters. But these super scifi hand cannons that are powered by the light, struggle to deal damage at 30 meters? Just garbage, I can see the value in pvp, but PVE no sir.

      • Aggressives need a PvP buff too. They kind of suck. There’s no point in using them, as most people are running high resil due to Bungie’s terrible balancing, so 120s are just basically worse 140s.

      • bungie should of had pve only hand cannons like many weapons should be. in pve we need a 300rpm 80 stability 80 impact HC

        • Bottom Dollar can be a solid choice if you don't have Igneous Hammer. Some older 120 options definitely are lacking in good perks and overall effectiveness. Adaptives do need to have an increase in fire rate to what they used to be as 150s, they lack a lot in range and are just the worse of two 140 options. (Thorn and Rose being the exception, 150 old Rose was crazy good) 180s are ok and Trust feels amazing to use.

          bottom dollar is also aces. steady hand is good too. otherwise yeah. I agree. I'd like if kill clip could 2 tap once more too.

        • They need to buff stats of others 120s, only Sturm and Igneous have good stats (Steady hand too, but only because of Iron Grip for stability). And precision instrument is just too powerful, no point to use a 120 without it. The only situation to live after 2 heads 1 bodyshot is having 100 resil and it should be crit-crit-body, in other orders you are going to die even with 100 resil in 2 crits 1 body

          • Imo aggressive frames do need some large downsides to them in order to balance the large chunk damage, these downsides usually come in the form of low stats. The most used 120’s tend to have a way to get silence the low reload, handling and stability. Eg: igneous with amazing base stats, sturm with amazing base stats and round Robin with keep away and ele cap ( throw in Ophids if you like) I do agree that the former 150s do need some help, idk abt making them 150 s since then wouldn’t we be back in the same place of why use a 140. On the other side of the coin 140s may still be favoured over 150s because of better stats. Mabye a stat bump would work, a few extra stat points in range and stability wouldn’t hurt. I have been using austringer and rose a lot in IB this week and I will say that they feel much better to use after the range buff - it was really sucky when you would hit three crits but your last bullet fell off.
