Following the weekly reset (14 May 2024), I have had issues accessing Destiny 2 Services. Firstly, error code cat was displayed, indicating an update was required, despite one not being present.
Steps taken to resolve:
ensured device and software updated for Destiny 2 and Console; no resolution
Removed and reinstalled Destiny 2 (Twice) on both internal hard drive and an external WD-Black external HDD after the first attempt yielded no positive outcomes
Following the successful reinstallation to the external HDD:
The game now launches past the main menu, onto the character selection screen, where all preview remain loading indefinitely, though character data appears to moderately sync from cloud effectively. Following character selection, the screen changes to the usual loading screen, without the normal animation present; the game then crashes without error code from either the console or Destiny 2 itself
Steps taken from here are as follows:
Soft and hard reset of console
Power cycling console
Ensuring network settings and connectivity (0% packet loss, open NAT type, consistent ~1GB speeds)
Changed HDMI and Ethernet cables to troubleshoot
Contacted ISP and determined no interruption or settings changes occurred
Added external cooling to ensure no excess heat
Cleaned dust from fan
Ensured adequate data transfer from USB ports to and from external HDD
Uninstalled and reinstalled portion of Destiny 2 (starting with base available in Microsoft store, adding additional content from shadowkeep, lightfall, beyond light, etc) with no visible changes in crashes
Video and photographs available for further troubleshooting are available, please let me know what more I can do.
