Bungie's decision to remove crafting for seasonal weapons is incredibly disappointing and detrimental to the player experience. It has led to an increased reliance on farming specific encounters, such as the final boss of Shattered Throne or The First Contact checkpoint, in order to get their seasonal weapons due to the frustration of dealing with poor RNG. Even with specific targeted tonics, the drop rates are still bad.
It's simply not feasible to continue stockpiling random rolls in our vaults out of fear that we may never get them again due to RNG grind or to spend literally days trying to get a weapon. (I know people that have been playing onslaught non-stop this season since release, still not having their roll or even close to it)
The limited vault space, combined with the vast amount of gear already in the game including weapons, armour, and exotic class items, makes this unsustainable.
I bet given the increased number of players investing countless hours into seasonal activities, I fear Bungie may interpret this as validation for removing crafting for seasonal loot and consider repeating this decision in the future.
if anyone at bungie sees this. please get real, this is awful.

Have you missed the entire point of them taking crafting off the table? It's to keep you on the hamster wheel.
-
I have artificial gears that I keep it. If they are useless in armor gear 3.0 for upgrade. Then what point for me grind those kind game.
-
Yeah... this ain't it anymore. If the loot was good or worth chasing? Maybe I'd be willing to some degree. But I've just logged in on launch to check what's new, realized it's not worth it, turned it off. I don't have time to spare for 10+ seasonal weapons kind of gambling. Crafting used to give me clear goal what I want to get. Now I'm not gonna chase stuff, get something that's not terrible, upgrade it, just to get something better few runs later. They are constantly shooting themselves in the knees with stupid decisions like that and I think that I am another person that's done with it. I'll probably speedrun "campaign" in last week of "season" just to get at least some of my money's worth but that's about it.

There's always gonna be people who defend this game at every turn, there's always going to be people that no matter what you say about this game all and all, want to squash your opinion when this forum is about giving opinions, these always going to be people who don't see things your way, But I think you are right, the GAME needs it, it is awful, and it's going to perish because of the nonsensical decisions that Bungie makes, I'm not happy with the tonic system and not happy with The new changes regarding seasonal weapons and Crafting, I think it's all stupid, just wanted to let you know I'm not one of those people who are just going to be mean to you, no kindness in my heart like some of the people that commented, this game has two very different sides of the community, Yes destiny is a looter shooter, but it's not borderlands and it use to be not like other games, destiny is famous for a reason, destiny 1 was a huge success for a reason, destiny use to have personality, things that set it apart, Things that made it unique, now it's not any of those things, unfortunately Bungie only listen to a certain type of people, so much that they would change the game for them, it's true, because if bungo really listened to they're fan base as much as they say they do, they would have made decisions differently, I'm just as disappointed in the game as much as you are, if you want to vent, don't be afraid to message me, I will not be surprised if the hate comments continue, I will not be surprised, if people comment on my comment and answer back with hate, because that's how people are on destiny.

Removing crafting has had the opposite intended effect for me. Instead of grinding to get red borders there’s one or two weapons that look interesting. Then like most people I’ll settle for the two perk combo I want and move on. Typically I was always getting the desired combo long before a weapon was ever craftable. But I kept playing to make it craftable and clear up vault space. Of course if we had a functioning collection system then this wouldn’t be an issue at all. Tldr; crafting easily had me playing content longer and removing it has killed motivation to play
-
Honestly, I'd have grinded for red borders on all the seasonal weapons. As it is tho I'll just try to get a decent HGL and the pulses. Maybe chroma rush... And that's it.

Listen, streamers have to be the only people in the game who have access to God rolls by way of the grind being out of reach for the broader community. That way, their content is more compelling when they review the weapons. It is these negative changes that act as a tax for the unofficial advertisement wing of Bungie. Why would we want to PLAY with great weapons, when their rarity can make certain players feel good about themselves, or better yet, we can watch more worthy players use them? Perhaps one day, there will only be people “watching” D2… as the last streamer logs off for the final time, to make their “why I’m quitting Destiny 2” video.

Edited by TheAntispider: 10/13/2024 12:11:51 PMI agree, take a look at the video's the past 3 months that most D2 YouTuber's put out. They were either playing another game, or they were whining about the "Grind" for "God Roll" weapons that "Crafting" took away. They spoke, and poof....this season has no craftable weapons...coincidence? Nope, "YouTubers" are D2's play testers that they don't have to pay and that is why they listen to them. If the "YouTuber's stopped/moved on from playing D2 they would lose the free ride, they would actually have to read the comments in the forums and know what the majority wants. "Crafting" weapons is good for D2 and most of its players, that's why D2 devs put it in the game. We all like "grinding" for loot....but crafting weapons made it more satisfying. I have played "Expert Onslaught" multiple times and the RNG is tough, get tons of reagents when all I want is tons of weapons.

Edited by SadTater: 10/11/2024 6:43:55 PMyup, I cannot express how terrible it feels to run 50 waves of legend onslaught just for a roll that gets dismantled immediately. if 50 waves dropped a guaranteed red border I'd feel like the hour I just spent in a single activity wasn't completely wasted.
-
The biggest issue in my mind is the vault space. With the rate at which we get new seasonal weapons, there is simply not enough vault space to keep decent rolls of them around. Crafting solved for that. So long as they were craftable, once you got your deepsights you effectively had the space to keep all possible rolls of that gun, which was a godsend for both buildcrafting and vault space.
-
This current method is actually a bit better. It's okay if you didn't get your godroll in 3 days of play into a new season. That being said, more Vault space will always be appreciated.
-
Oh cry harder. We didn't have crafting for years. Good grief. Tissue?
-
Omg why don’t you people actually want to put forth effort. I get time is an issue however I am starting to think that isn’t the actual problem. The problem is people got so use to logging in every week/ day and just claiming the red boarder then hopping off. No more effort, just hitting a couple buttons. DESTINY 2 IS LOOTER SHOOTER. A looter shooter is meant to have WEAPON GRIND. It took my friend weeks to get the Indebted Kindness he wanted and he was happy when he got it. You can go grind back to back in terms of days where he had to wait a week. Crafting is a great system. It makes things easy. However this belly aching needs to stop because you actually have to grind again and put forth effort.

Edited by Candy: 10/12/2024 6:07:11 PMThe loot is trash and so is re painted onslaught. The tonic system is just convoluted and dumb pretending to be special
-
Imo, crafting should've never been added to the game. Kills the spirit of loot driven ARPG's and diminishes the value of god rolls. Taken King and Forsaken had no crafting and the game thrived during that time. What the game needs is new tiers and rarities to farm, like the shiny weapons from the Into The Light update.

Edited by pUnk's nOt deAd: 10/11/2024 10:18:17 PMWhat? Remove crafting? They truly don't give a damn. The game doesn't need less crafting -It NEEDS MORE!!!
-
Yup. This makes me grind less, not more.
-
Welcome to Final Scam. dont forget to pre order the next Dlc year pass.
-
Their excuse for this is pathetic, saying players "love that feeling of a god roll drop" is just code for "we made a change to up your play time so we can sell it to investors, because high player count and long play time is key to getting them to handing over money." or similar.
-
Yeah, these weapons this season so far aren’t that great, crafting should be added to these after each act, at least to the lesser popular ones
-
crafting should only be for guns that have adept alts so you can get the gun you want eventually but you can also get a little bit better version if you grind
-
The no lifers will swarm you, but you are 100% right. If they get under your skin, just remember, Destiny is their source of validation in their life, so they're quite pathetic.
