This is mine as well. Which is why I don't understand the whole ghorn req some raids request. Hunger does roughly the same damage + added damage to crota's shield because he's considered a major/ultra and hunger has increased damage to hive majors (even though the wpn doesn't say ultra, it still does the added damage).
