Is it really that bad?
If it wasn't for the planner and the guy to take charge to create order then you're screwed. I always join random raid groups like yesterday on my 30 hunter for normal crota. And they were scrambled as -blam!-. I don't like being that guy who shouts orders and tells people how to play especially as the lowest lvl in the team.
Teaching a 32 hunter how to do blink strike and get 3 then 4 hits on Crota, it just feels weird being that guy who leads while everyone just wants you to stfu. No one shooting rockets unless you count down and tell him specifically what there job is. When to shoot swordbearer. Not having 4 guys on boomer duty.
I like leading to victory but feel like an asshole.
Is it just me?

Leading is another part of the game. It's a pretty cool experience when there's no asshatery I miss leading 40s in vanilla WoW. That was a good time

If your sword runner is not leading the group, then you need to find a better sword runner.
-
You def dont need the inviso method for normal mode....
-
I do the same. Even when I'm with my friends. If no one speaks up, I'm am going to so we can accomplish the goal! Remember 32 doesn't mean he is any good, it just means he got lucky with drops :)

I normally go through the first time without saying anything. After one wipe I'll give very slight instruction. After two wipes I take full control and order like a damn general. I feel bad but at the end of the day, the raid gets done.

I am raid leader for every raid I do vog or crota. I'm also always sword bearer or relic holder just about every raid .
-
I don't feel like an asshole because I play with people that know me very well. They know that at the end of the day I love them and always will. <3

You need a leader, and you need to be happy with your leader, If you have a lone wolf who is not a team player, kick him! Then remove him from the fireteam too! The leader in my team is just the one who keeps timing by saying when we run, shoot, etc. We all know the plan but waiting for that one voice to say 'shoot' makes timing sooo much easier.

Actually, no I don't end up feeling like an asshole because someone has to lead and I'm not a dick when I do it.

Edited by Fromage of Havoc: 2/10/2015 3:59:56 PMDoesn't sound like the fireteam thought you were the asshole if they were listening to you. You can lead without being a dick, you know. It's a team effort, it takes leading and it takes listening. It's when the leader acts like a -blam!-ing Diva or the best thing since sliced bread that it becomes a problem. When it's more than one, it's even worse...not sure if I would like a team without leaders or a team with 5 of them in it...

No, you need one voice to keep things in order, when everyone and their dog is chatting away it causes distraction. People goof up and die or don't take crota down when they need to because they fired a rocket too early. As the swordbearer for our group I like to lead because they are waiting for my call to shoot, and I can run the sword, and remind them about ogres and to stand on the very edge of the ledge because after 3 hits with this sword he will enrage. If it's organized and everyone is focused then you can complete it in 15 minutes, after that everyone can chat away about their wives or girlfriends or whatever after that.

Gotta be the a-hole leader in order to succeed in the raid.

If I don't do it it won't get done. It sucks but that's how it is. A lot of people are sheep, someone has to be the herder.
