So as Luke Smith said "the mistakes we made with the DLC1 reward economy will not be repeated" a big one of those mistakes being that players had to basically buy new exotic items to replace their own older, less powerful exotic items, and fully upgrade them another time.
Luke also said "We want fewer barriers to equipping upgrades", I think that a great way of achieving this would be to apon upgrading our old exotics once house of wolfs comes around, by means of xur or what have you, that we would instead of receiving a brand new out of the box exotic, we would receive an exotic item with all of its damage/armor upgrade nodes empty, ready to get Exp, but the items exotic perk already active. Because what do we want from exotic items? We want the perk.
