Stop using guns to shoot ATHEON!!
Is it just me, or recently are all these christmas noobs posting on lfg as 30/31s and turning VoG HM into a shit fest.
I mean come on everyone. It is called a "SUPER". Your most powerful move. You ever wonder why your super charges so fast in the shield? Because bungie wanted you to use them. If everyone used their super. Atheon goes down IN 10 SECONDS. Ghorn is ok to use, if you are a defender. And if you have a double gernade perk. Use those first.
I swear these new guys. Thinking you need blackhammer. We did that shit for months with out it!
But I digress. Stop using your guns during times vengence. Supers only

Third edit: Because all you noobs are too dumb. Here is a test.
Shoot a captain with a one sniper bullet. Does he die? No. Use one super on same captain. He dies. Why? Because the super is stronger. Now Time's Vengence multiples total damage out put. So why not multiple your strongest attack. You all just need to think about it and stop being so stupid.
Edit 4: Seriously everyone? Still don't believe me, well fine. Here, I recorded my fire team and I using supers only. Here the video. THIS IS PROOF IT WORKS.

Edit 5: Final edit. Everyone, accept it. This method is the best. All your icebreaker and blackhammer pale in comparison. SUPERS ARE THE BEST WAY TO KILL HIM.

Golden gun per shot is 1100 damage. Ice breaker with weapons of light is 17k per shot. Math says weapons are better. Been doing it this way since VoG came out. So, who's the noob?

5 RepliesThe problem with supers is the cooldown. Even with times vengeance it takes about 4 seconds to charge, go through the animation and hit. So that means you have about 7 hits. Not only that but many supers are close quarters. A bladedancer and striker can get stomped and die. Void walker and golden gun can hit from a distance so those are mostly fine. Defenders weapons of light does not buff supers so it would be useless. Sunsingers get boosts to grenades and while that is useful it isnt high DPS. Ultimately supers are not the best. Unless you are using golden gun or nova bomb your super is almost useless.

Yes a super is strong but guns are much more effective. Your DPS is much higher using guns, providing they are decent. A warlock using nova bomb takes a couple seconds per use, in that time you could have unloaded an entire sniper clip surpassing way past what the novabomb did. Sun singer is just horrible because the more grenades the more he moves meaning less DPS. A titan won't FOH either for the simple fact you will die so they are useless. Hunters golden gun just simply isn't strong enough to worry about. Guns are much better, gjlallahorn destroys, any sniper with decent impact destroys.

1 ReplyYeah grenades and rockets are actually a bad idea since they tend to make Atheon run around like a jack ass. 1 guy holding shield/relic and 5 guys shooting Icebreaker works well tho. Weapons of light in the back please 18,000 damage per bullet.

2 RepliesHe is just trying to troll you guys. Do not try this at home. Golden gun does the same amount of dmg as a bullet from a hc, around 1-3000 dmg. ice breaker does 22k dmg.

Ice breaker does 18,000 pershot I warn everyone that I pick up from pug groups that anyone that fires a rocket or throws grenades at atheon gets kicked. 3 best weapons to use Snipers Heavy machine guns Fusion rifles
