If it turns out people want it, the VAL stories may either tie in or serve as a sort of prequel into it. Maybe they're really just grimoire cards, so to speak, for a bigger project...

I spend a lot of time working through plots before I even put them up---it dawned on me that with Bask and the Kell and VAL and the New Monarchy groups and one or two others I have, 10,000 characters at a time isn't really enough.
