I get very confused when people say it isn't a choice. Like I know it's your feelings but like when people say they are born like that I have trouble believing it because I know gay people who had straight crushes in elementary school and early middle school who are now gay. I'm not saying I'm for/against but this topic part of it all confuses me.. But I will say there is one thing I find really odd. It's when I see gay guys dress like women. Like I'm talking full dress and makeup and painted nails. Like I get you are gay but I mean I also don't understand the idea of trying to make yourself look like that gender. Like if you like the opposite gender why would you dress like them?

My view on it is that when you are younger (like primary/elementary school age) you most likely don't know what homosexuality is, so you get crushes on girls because that's the 'social norm' and it's all you know. Once you start to learn that it's possible to be homosexual, however, you might start to think that it's possible to have crushes on guys too, so you might start thinking of them that way. It's not so much that you suddenly decide to like guys, it's more to do with realising that you like guys once you know it's possible to feel that way to the same sex.
