That special item you get from doing the vault of glass backwards from Atheons chamber while riding on your sparrow. Once you blast out through the doors at the start the gate down the bottom opens and takes you to a version of Destiny where everything makes sense and has some credible explanation. After you head back to earth and finish the REAL story you get a key that unlocks doors and lets you throw out your ghost. Downside? It becomes a rouge like game and permadeath is a thing, so nobody bothers. Really though? Probably shaders and ships from factions. They are soooooo RNG
