I just told you how you didn't earn it. You did a heroic strike. They take 15 mins and are incredibly easy. Meanwhile, you have people who are doing much harder, longer, more complicated content (raids) and are being rewarded with dick. Guy A raids and raids and raids, comes up empty Guy B does a Heroic Strike (not even a Nightfall. A single Heroic Strike). Then guy B brags that he earned an exotic and gets salty with anyone who acquires an exotic through any other means. Xur was implemented to keep the Casuals happy.
