Mars is relatively the same as earth. Just a lot less oxygen and frozen water

It use to have water until it was struck by a giant ass asteroid and solar wind tore through is magnetic field and stripped the plant if it's oxygen.

Ya the planet would've been habitable if it wasn't hit.

It's core cooled and it lost it's magnetic field. If it got struck by something, there would be evidence. Take mercury, huge crater on once side and a mountain range created by the kinetic energy on the other side.

There is evidence of something hitting it. During its development it got hit by an object about the size of Texas and that shook off its magnetic feels and water.
