Tokyo Ghoul. Also a bit morally grey like Death Note.

  • I wouldn't say it's horror, but the art style comes off that way. If you don't like it, at least finish the first season, my girlfriend and best friend didn't like it initially, but love it now.

First season is 12 episodes. Second has 7 and is ongoing. If for some reason you end up hating it, well at least it's not long. But I believe you will like it. I loved half of Death Note as well. So, what made you decide to try anime?

  • My friend at the time convinced me. He knew i liked animation and what not. . . I never watched anime cause it comes off too soap-opera-ish... and or very raunchy. .. things I'm not interested in. He assured it's not all like that.

  • Well, it's like anything else, but different simultaneously. Some is ecchi (raunchy) some is drama, some action, et cetera. There's many subgenres. Tokyo Ghoul I think is considered a dark thriller, with partly action, and drama. You'll just have to see for yourself. The more you watch, the more it opens up until the big change at the end of the first season. That change is also why I think you should stick to it if you don't like it prior.
