Easy solution. Join team of randoms. Go afk and message them tell them you want to solo it and ask them to politely leave and find new team. Now go and enjoy your weekly solo.

This does not work. The matchmaking system automatically tried to replace departed fireteam members with a new member. Sometimes you can get the strike done before the system sends others in. But more than likely not.
