Actually moon is a general term for like an asteroid the orbits a planet.
Luna is what our moon is called and Titan and Europa are other "moons"

The IAU, the party officially recognized for naming bodies outside of earth's atmosphere, officially recognizes the moon's name as... well.. The Moon. Luna is the Latin term for Moon. Earth's name is Earth, not Terra. The name of the sun is The Sun, not sol. Luna is simply the latin term for Moon, and the Moon's official name is Moon. Why are moons of other planets called moons as well? Not sure. Perhaps that is just the laymen term for satellite.

A moon is any natural satellite orbiting any body. There are asteroids with moons. Smaller asteroids orbiting the larger.

A Moon is a Natural Satellite. Size doesn't matter.

Good point and well made but i belive a 'moon' is defined as an orbiting celestial body of natural origin orbiting a planet (primary) as apposed to an asteroid which falls into the criteria of minor planet as they orbit the sun and not a primary Sorry I get a bit pedantic
