I didn't say they were comparable on the grounds of repercussive ability, I just told you what grounds they're comparable on.

  • but like I said it's not comparable. in your opinion it is. in mine it's not. see now we're back on opinions. :] sexual assault scars people sexual assault can lead to suicide sexual assault can ruin someone. This in no way can. That's like saying you can compare dying to being asleep the only difference is you wake up. Driving is the same as a car accident but in one your car isn't damaged. Stepping in a puddle is the same as swimming because you get wet either way. Victim blaming isn't only in sexual assault. ferguson Mi victim blaming. Eric Garner in NYC victim blaming.

Are apples oranges? No! But they're certainly comparable on the grounds that they're both fruit, SHOULD ONE CHOOSE TO COMPARE THEM

  • You can't compare them based on that lol there completely different. yes they're fruit but they're both different.

Compare: estimate, measure or note the similarity or dissimilarity between. Apples are not oranges, but they're comparable on the grounds that they're both fruit. Apples are not oranges, but they're comparable on the grounds that one is red and one is orange. You see, I can compare them based on whatever makes them similar or dissimilar, as that's what a comparison is. Do you not know what comparison is either, Jared? Should I weave that definition into the definition of an analogy for you too???

I can take the 5 minutes it takes to show you why it does matter, if you'd like. I really don't mind; backing you into walls and watching you use irrelevancies as your defense as you slink away from what's actually happening here is not only entertaining for me, but also for, now 15 different people on this thread, 3 of my close friends, and soon much of /r/facepalm

See this buddy?? This is what, in the science community, we call the scientific method of using empirical evidence to support claims! I'll empirically show you why this is empirical evidence that supports my claims if you really want lol, it's a 5 minute process.
It's a fact that in cases of sexual assault of a minor (also known as statutory -blam!-), an adult takes advantage of an unsuspecting and naive child. It's a fact that in this case, an Adult took advantage of an unsuspecting and naive child. It's a fact that in cases of sexual assault of a person of age, victim blaming is a common tactic used to defend the alleged perpetrator. It's a fact that in this case, victim blaming is a common tactic used to defend the alleged perpetrator.
It is fact that they can be compared (see: comparable) on these grounds. You can try to use semantics to make it opinion all you want, but in the end, it's my CHOICE to compare them on these grounds and your CHOICE to sift through their differences. It's by no means an opinion that they ARE ABLE TO BE COMPARED, CLEARLY, as they HAVE JUST BEEN SUCCESSFULLY COMPARED.
