I could be completely wrong here and someone may have already brought it up. You say between past and present and the middle between them. That middle can.go from that platform all the way to behind where atheon spawns. Thought if you ran to back past where atheon spawns after killing him you could see setting back behind the arches? Another platform or portal like outside the atheon room on the big jump?
