I think if there is a chest it has to be around the crack where the lighy seeps in from the vault behind atheon. I think in ordee to get it you must go through one of rhe portals after atheon is killed.
When atheon teleports you he sends you to the same place. It's just past or future. So maybe in the past or future this area is accessible.

Maybe its accessable in the past, maybe there was a bridge and it broke down?

Maybe. Also the door to atheon should be accessible in the past or future. In the chaos of the game play its hard to explore these zones. It needs to be done after atheon is dead. Who knows maybe the vex gate in the jumping puzzle is accessible through the portals and a chest might be sitting there.
