Does anyone else not like this scout rifle? I'm not a fan. Like at all. I don't think the whole marking an enemy thing is useful, yes maybe with swordbearer during crota but you don't need it. I don't know. Like I'd rather go with my new iron banner scout rifle or another NITC vanguard scout. Anyone else agree?
Edit: Forgot I posted this, then remember when I had 50+ replies. Apparently people love this gun.
I still don't understand?

I use that reload speed instead with stability, recks stuff everywhere

Don't use that target thing. use the reload perk. you now increased your dps

If the marking allowed you to see them through obstacles then I would love it. Sadly that's not how it works.

Hmmm. Well the whole marking enemies thing is really a niche thing. Swap that with that other perk you can use, And you're set.

The target marking is helpful for not loosing sight of the swordbarrer but that's about it. Gun looks horrible and enough with the damn bones on everything...I guess we will get furs for our gun from HOW.

17 RepliesEver since I started using scout rifles I have destroyed four R2 buttons. Please make an upgraded VoC because each click is one closer to a broken controller for me considering I lift weights and play guitar.

I disagree. I completely love the Fang. It is a beast in the Crota fight. I do use the marking perk specifically for the sword bearer because if we wipe in hard mode, 9 times out of 10 it is because the sword bearer wasn't brought down quick enough, and marking him helps to eliminate that. It also is a very nice gun during the Omnigul strike.

It's great for high health targets. If you're just taking out low health targets, stick with a good hand cannon for one shots.

It's basically VOC without auto fire. I like it as an alternate arc source but not sold on it completely. I assume the marking will play a bigger roll in HOW dlc. For now I just run the speed reload.

I like it. I rarely use the mark perk.. i use field scout. Wait when arc burn strikes come out... maybe it will shine more. Just to think of it....next raid will be fallen. And i believe most fallen are arc shielded (except shanks).... especially those sword wielding fallen captains.. We will see by May.

I love that SR. I use the stability perk with fast reload after the last round. The thing shoots like a laser.

I don't use the marking perk, it does seem useless. Overall I like different elemental damage and the impact. I do wish it was auto fire but I can live with it. It's an alternative for VOC when arc and the extra hit points are needed.

It's sub par, I use it for the simple fact that it is a scout with arc, but otherwise it simply isn't great.

I sort of like it. Do wish it went auto like voc, though. I also suspect that the marking will be important, maybe, for how.

I agree, the only perk I like on it is field scout and third eye. I love my iron banner one I got last time it was here, with firefly its so much better. But no I agree with you.

The main reason I use it is bc of the arc damage and the 27 round clip. I try to use other SR but I always find myself coming back to the fang. I also use the quick reload perk too.
