Sorry for the lateness all (forgot to tag tags)! Time to introduce a new character!
(Also, note that now most the things the characters say are now in Fallen)
Part 14: The Return
Matthew looked around, gazing at the scene around him. His comrades too weak for the journey back to the valley outside the Citadel. It was then he remembered something.
Inside a place called the Vault of Glass, where many guardians had fallen, there was supposedly and artifact there similar to the sword Matthew now held in his hand.
Supposedly it was created by a guardian, a titan named Kabr, that could punch through time and space itself, thus cracking open the Vault. Supposedly he created the artifact in the Vault of Glass.
He must have made a sword as well, but how it ended up here, Matthew didn't know. With that, Matthew wondered about the sword.
He heard Kabr had put his own light into the artifacts, but Matthew never heard anything about the one in the Vault of Glass ripping holes in space and time.
Thoughts raced through his mind as he stared at the three orbs in the blade, glowing with light, trying to think of a way out.
He was snapped out of his trance as Saliks shook him.
“How are we supposed to get out?” He asked.
“Let me try something.”
Matthew asked Saliks to let go, and once he did Matthew faltered a bit, pain shooting up through his leg, though he stayed standing, steadfast. He raised the Xiphos, the orbs glowing once again. He prayed that his plan worked.
The Dregs stared in awe, the two-armed creature they thought was Fallen, holding a glowing sword above him, battle-scarred yet still standing.
Matthew slashed down in a wide arc, closing his eyes. When he opened them again, he saw nothing but thin air.
“It didn’t work…” He said under his breath.
Then, all of the sudden, a sound similar to fabric being ripped sounded from thin air. The scene before him unfolded, as a jagged hole opened in the air. He turned his head, but however much he tried to look at it from a different angle, it kept facing him.
The hole showed the main hall of the Fallen Ketch of Winter, though it seemed it was like a one way window, as none of the Fallen in the main hall could see them. Saliks and Matthew nodded to each other.
Saliks and the surviving Dreg dragged the two unconscious Dregs through the hole while Matthew made sure it didn’t close behind them. At last, Matthew went through the hole, and he saw a flash of light. When he could see again, he was laying on the ground of the main hall, along with the others, a crowd of Fallen surrounding them.
Matthew discreetly tapped Saliks on the shoulder, and Saliks’ eye slowly opened. They both gazed at the crowd around them, both of them slowly getting to their feet.
They heard a low voice shouting his way through the crowd, and a tall figure soon appeared. The Kell’s eyes widened, shocked to see the five of them actually making it back, shocked to see any of them made it back.
“You should be dead.” The Kell said, malice in his voice, drawing a large shock blade, and pointing it to Matthew.
Just then, the surviving Dreg got between the Kell and Matthew and Saliks.
“What is this?!” The Kell shouted at the Dreg.
“These two were the ones that were able to bring us back. We even got the artifact.” The Dreg said, pointing to the sword in Matthew’s hand.
“It would be useless to kill them now.” He then whispered to the Kell,
“Plus, you wouldn’t want to look bad in front of all of them, now would you?”
The Kell’s eyes shifted to the crowd around them, anticipating what will happen next. After a few minutes of contemplation, the Kell let out a low growl.
“Fine. Give me the artifact.” The Kell said, attempting to make a grab at the Xiphos. As his hand wrapped around the blade, a distinct hissing sound could be heard of fire scorching flesh. The Kell ripped his hand away, clutching his newly burnt palm.
“What is this?!” He shouted. This time Saliks did the talking,
“It seems that only Matis can hold the artifact.” He said, looking the Kell straight into the eyes.
“We do not know why this is, but I am sure that the engineers can figure out a way, and then the artifact will be yours, my liege.”
The Kell’s heavy breathing began to slow until he shook his head.
“One of these days your silver tongue will fail you, Saliks, however I shall trust you on this day. Get these Fallen out of my sight. Take them to the medical bay for treatment.”
“Looks like yours and that Dreg were able to talk our way out of a tough situation, good job.” Matthew said to Saliks while they were escorted to the infirmary. Though he was still limping and covered in burn and flesh wounds, Matthew was alright, as far as walking and talking goes.
“You could say it’s a gift.” Saliks said, still clutching his side and shoulder.
This was the first time Matthew was at the medical bay, but when he saw it, the first words that popped into his head wasn’t exactly “Clean” or “Healthy” or “Come in here and feel free of diseases”.
It was like a fourth of the other parts of the Ketch. Junk lied across the floor, sharp scrap metal in places you wouldn’t think possible, and there was Ether stains anywhere you looked. The “doctor” seemed to be fiddling with chemicals in the corner of the room.
It was until then when Saliks released the Fallen’s closest thing to a cough, which sounded more like a mix between a gurgle and a hiss, and the Fallen doctor looked up.
Though Matthew noticed most of the Fallen Vandal’s only acknowledged anything with a scowl, the doctor actually greeted them with what seemed like a smile.
“Matis, this is our doctor, Doctor, this is Matis.” Saliks said, gesturing them accordingly.
“Ah, you’ve been the talk of the ship! The one with two arms!” the Fallen in something similar to a lab coat said.
“Though it’s nice to meet you, we really need medical attention.” Matthew said, gesturing to the two unconscious Dregs.
“I suppose you’re right.” the doctor said with a smile and a clap of his four hands.
“Let’s get down to business.”

I can picture this as a tv/web-series. Great work!
