I don't know about you guys, but I don't even use it in Battlefield.
It's more than an extreme nuisance, especially when you're trying to snipe and a Thrall runs in front of you.
I'd rather get my Aim Assist off than the heavy ammo glitch fixed, and I'm a rocket-spamming kind of guy.
Thanks for the bumps, people. Not a single person has said 'no' in any way other than to 'tone aim assist down' for a couple posts. I'm okay with that, but I don't like the assist in any FPS usually.
Make more threads and requests with this in the following weeks so DeeJ will notice and relay the message like he did with Vault-space and other requests. Thank you :)
I'm not the guy that freaks whenever a topic is trending, but I will admit that this is my 2nd one to trend that wasn't a troll thread. I've had around 10-12 trend since I started posting around November, I think. Good times.
For you new-posting idiots saying you can turn it off, even though there are only a few saying so: no, you cannot. You are talking about 'Auto-Centering', which has been in Halo games since CE, as far as I remember (never had an Xbox). Aim-Assist helps your accuracy, while Auto-Centering moves your crosshairs to the horizon after a period of time.

I will keep my aim assist on. Then i will laugh how my foes miss without their aim assist on.
-
This would be great to see! I think it would definitely improve my aim, and prevent mishaps like reticle-stealing by passing enemies. Thanks!
-
Bungie released, what, 4 FPS games before Destiny and never in their mind thought about including this option. I REALLY doubt this is coming anytime soon. Though, I'll admit I was very surprised to see they FINALLY added Music Options, so who knows?

I get killed by aim assist more than anything in crucible. I'll be one shot away from killing someone then someone else will walk in front of that guy, dragging my sights and then douchenuts ends up killing me
-
If you are using an Xbox, go to your Xbox PROFILE, select GAME DEFAULTS, select ACTION, then switch the AUTO-AIM to off. There is also an AUTO-CENTERING option, but that's something completely different. Nonetheless both of these can be found there. Trust H3 MLG I couldn't stand it. Yes people there is such thing. Check it.

Edited by GeneralPoe: 4/10/2015 7:35:43 AMI made a similar post and people told me good luck trying to aim. I laughed. It's so needed in the crucible. I can't tell you how many times I've died because I was shooting at an enemy player and his teammate happened to run behind or beside him and my aimer moves from the guy im shooting at and follows the runner...

Forced aim assist is garbage. Takes away from the thrill of the kill...
-
Agree
-
Agree. Bump. I can aim well enuff myself.
-
To everyone saying "options" I'll direct you here: http://db.planetdestiny.com/items/weapons?tier=24&sort=aim You ALREADY have the option. Aim assist is a stat on the weapons. Find and construct weapons with low aim assist if you wanna be hardcore. Its not difficult.
-
I agree that it is annoying. But it isn't as awfull as the aim assist in warframe.
-
All these posts and im guessing none of yall checked options
-
Have you checked options yet?
-
I'll just say it again Options
-
The option would be amazing. I'm tired of aiming at a enemy then another enemy comes dancing in front of them and my aim snaps to them... Highly annoying. If I want to shoot THAT enemy, I'll AIM at THAT enemy.

Bumpy

UBER BUMPING. Anybody so says otherwise, go practice. The amount of times I've wanted to launch my controller cause of aim assist. It's criminal to competitive gaming.
-
Hear hear! -blam!- auto aim, once and for all!
-
Bump this
-
It's because this game is made for bi#@÷$. Just look how fast everything's been nerfed and buffed, since day one. This is something that should never be in a FPS game. Oh well good thing DBZ X is good and has a better story.
-
-
-blam!- yea bro I'm sick and tired of lining up a shot to have some random thrall dreg or gazi random pop in front of me and have it auto aim. Leave the feature add an off switch

You'd be surprised how bad Destiny would be without the aim assist. Say goodbye to ALL of your precision kills with Handcannons and Scout rifles. The gunplay in Destiny is what makes it fun. The amount of "headshot magnetism" as I like to call it, is what makes getting precision kills so easy. Your aiming reticle slows down when you're aimed at a target, which means it's easier to get precision hits. Without that, most people would be scrubs at the game.
