Why did Bungie remove player heavy ammo drops in PVP?! Waiting for the other team to pick it up then murdering them meant I could strategically leave each purple brick for a later pick up? Was that not the intended design? And why wasn't this mentioned earlier (correct me if I'm wrong) in expected changes? This feels like a sneaky and kinda bullshit change. What do you guys think?

I actually like this. Too many times I've been on the giving and receiving end of matches where the game's over as soon as the other team gets heavy control. Grab your box and kill another guy for a box and you can reliably use your HMG until the next box spawns. Heavy should be a reward from having map control imo and too often a bad spawn or single mistake while having heavy can cost a team the entire game. I'd be for adding it back in if there was only 1 shared heavy box that spawns per map.
-
I love it. I rush to enemies heavy, grab it and die. No heavy for their team and my whole team has it then
-
There's a lot less heavy now. I feel 50/50
-
I'm torn. On one hand it sucks balls, but on the other, in glad people won't have almost infinite Heavy after the first drop
-
I absolutely love it. In my opinion, when heavy ammo drops the game enters this moment of carnage and breaks up the balance between the two teams (As it should), but after all players who had heavy ammo die the game should go back to a balanced playing field until the heavy ammo crates show up again. The fact that you could shoot a rocket faster than the other guy and get another 2 rockets seemed ridicilous to me and ensured the playing field stayed unbalanced for a longer period of time than it should.
-
Why nerf AR's again. Lol Really no reason for me to keep playing now. :(
-
It was not possible that I will lose games, I was using shoot to loot weapon with truth. Whenever there was heavy, I got 7 truth rockets, and when I killed aomeone who had rockets I got atleast 5more rockets. After first heavy, I was using truth and goldwn gun till the end.

The crucible seems so much more calm and relaxed since yesterday. Maybe it's the greater usage of pulse rifles or the decrease in presence of heavy ammo, but whatever it is I love it.
-
I only play skirmish and Heavy ammo can change a game so much. I 100% agree with the new update.
-
Ah and now we start kleptoclutching at every purple box then letting myself die. Ultra troll
-
I don't want some bastard running around with Heavy Ammo all day long while my team can barely get a kill.
-
The game is dominated by heavy ammo for too long as it stands. This makes killing sprees after heavy drops more important. Win your battle and you're the only one on the battlefield with heavy ammo. Lose after that and you deserve to lose your ammo. This rewards dominant players by ensuring that nobody else can go back and pick up extra heavy ammo, preserving the advantage for the guy who won in the first place.
-
The last thing I want is some retard running around with full ammo for Truth for the entire map.
-
I like the patch. Now I don't have to worry about some moron using corrective measure the entire match.
-
Now we can troll the ammo pick up. Wait by yourself for other team to come pick up then get it and go out in a blaze of glory.
-
Idk who voted for it to drop after you kill someone but they must be scrubs who rely on their heavy weapon for kills. It's retarded when someone comes running I'm the room with a nova bomb and kills everyone at the heavy ammo, resulting in nonstop truth rockets, or jolders hammer camping for the next 5 mins until heavy ammo drops again
-
Amo only for people who get it from crates. Gtfo for thinking you should get to have heavy for half a game
-
It makes sense so that no person would STILL have heavy 5 minutes later, I like it
-
They removed one of the few truly competitive mechanics in this game's PVP. So it makes sense. It's dumb. But makes sense. The heavy ammo drops on death place a premium on staying alive, and killing a heavy ammo user should bring the added benefit of being able to take the ammo (if you can reach it). This was a dumb, dumb move IMO.
-
If I'm my guardian in the Crucible, and I kill someone who has rocket/hmg ammo, I'm using it. Who's stupid enough to say otherwise?
-
Hell no. They should not drop ammo. This puts twice as much priority on securing both heavies. Nothing worse than anticipating rockets when there shouldn't be rockets. Truthfully I can adapt either way the patch goes, but I prefer the new.
-
i think special ammo crate should have a chance to proc heavy ammo in exchange
-
I hear ya.... Field Scout!!!
-
It gets rid of the problem of leaving heavy drops for multiple different spawns.
-
I get why they did it. Certain machine guns with field scout packed a lot of death. I was surprised to see it, but I think this is one of those changes that most people aren't going to care about in a few days. Is there any change is secondary availability? Or can you still essentially spam them the entire time, as long as you hit a crate early?
