I have played Battlefield for YEARS.
Never, not once, was there a multi gig pre update for an update or DLC.

BF4. Happened just about ever DLC. Some of them of them were prep and others were patches.

Congrats in your 1,000 hours I guess. But there have been updates that came out a week or a few days before the DLC that were 2 GBs or more. So you don't know what you you're taking about or I guess I must have been hallucinating the TV images where my XBO was updating the game...
