Oh and by your technicality your titan or warlock was dead long before that battle so your not a survivor either. Therefore you should not get it either.

Not really a noob, I know a good amount about the game. I am a skilled relic holder for my fire team. I co lead a clan. Run VoG weekly. Working on my second character.
