Since Bungie came out and said that they modeled the Titan class after the Master chief I'm pretty sure he is a Titan.

Oh really? Listen well Titan, they said Titans were modelled after Spartans, as Titan armor looks so immensely different from Mark V or VI armor that they would have had to model it after something else, such as E.V.A. Now, do I have your attention? Good. While Chief's armor may indeed resemble a Titans more than it does a Hunter's or a Warlocks, Hunters, in the official statement from Bungie were modelled after than man with no name(Clint Eastwood), and if you ever read the notes about who Master chief was based on, you'll find that guess what... He was based on the same person.

Actually that's not true. During the development of Halo(the RTS)the developers asked Marcus to draw them a futuristic soldier and he came up with Master Chief. Master Chiefs dialogue was based off of Clint Eastwood as they wanted a hero that doesn't talk a lot. The man with no name is technically not true as well. During the development of Halo(the FPS) they couldn't come up with a name for the hero so they called him Master Chief and as time went on they couldn't think of a better name. The armor that the Master Chief wears was almost called Titan but at the last minute they changed it to MJOLNIR. When Bungie was creating the Titan class they wanted a futuristic soldier like the Master Chief. Bungie also got inspiration from the Terminator movies but I don't see the resemblance.

Terminator was probably for the Exos, just saying. The man with no name was a character that Clint Eastwood played, that's who the main inspiration for his personality came from. If you'd have read the edit you'd understand.
