The only way the weapons would be earned is if it were the same for everyone. For example "you beat crota hard you get such and such weapon". When you get them in random drops or rewards that's not really earning that weapon, all you earned was a chance of scoring something nice. At the same time when you you go and earn those coins by doing weekly heroic and buy it, you earned it.

1 ReplyUni remote was my first exotic from way back when I started. I don't have a problem with xur selling it and hotpf because most people on my friends list allready have then , I didn't think they where rare, so xur gets boring until he has something different for the old guys

Gtfo, I finally got praxic fire last week after 24 weeks and then xur sells it this week. I'm glad xur sold it, why? Because titans & hunters have has all exotics sold and warlocks were missing 2 being sold. Bout time we got something.

If you purchased heavy synths from Xûr, Eris or Gunsmith, or got them from the Eris heavy weapon bounty, you are a filthy scrub. You have to earn them by only collecting them randomly when you open a chest. [spoiler]Earner logic is completely retarded.[/spoiler]

You're not great for having an exotic, you're not special, you didn't earn it, you got lucky where everybody else gets nothing, because virtually everybody do the raids/nightfalls. Hell, even if you were such a special special snowflake for having an exotic, you totally earned it and deserve that exotic, exotics that Xur sell are only popular for a couple of weeks before dying down again. Also, speaking as somebody who had the Universal Remote before he sold it, it's not nearly as rare as you seem to think it is. You rarely see people using it because it's honestly not that great of an exotic, and you can easily find better choices for an exotic slot. Speaking as somebody who's had Icebreaker before he originally sold it so long ago, as somebody who's had Ghorn before he'll sell it again, as somebody who got the Dragons Breath in the first week of DLC, I don't give a shit what he sells provided I get to waste some of my strange coins on him. I suggest you start to do that same.

Who cares? I've had tons of stuff that xur sells before he's sold it. Heart of praxic fire included. Does it hurt me? No. Did I lose money? No. Does it have any real world consequences? Imagine if they added 2 pieces for each body part for each class? Or just 10 more exotic weapons? Even if they were just filler weapons for the good stuff!
