Hey guys!
I have finally received my first Gjallarhorn this week from Crota normal.
Ever since, I have seen Gjallarhorn everywhere. I even finished a Crota hard checkpoint with 5 people having this rocket launcher equipped.
We see the people that are asking for this weapon every week from Xur and from RNG. Even though we say this gun is one of the rarest exotics, I honestly think it is not.
What do you think ? Is Gjallarhorn rare or not ?

6 of them
-
Last week it dropped for a good few of my friends during raids and nightfalls. I managed to get mine as well last week on my third nightfall run. It still seems pretty rare though.
-
I earned my gally
-
I saw three drop last week during the Crota Raid, prior to that just once in VoG.
-
Got my second one this week. Got it from gorgon chest
-
I have almost 700 hours in this game and I've run VoG and Crota too many times to count...I have 3 32 characters...I have seen Gally drop 5 times, none of which were to me. It's annoying being the only one in my group that constantly gets Plan C and No Land Beyond. It's to a point that I don't think it's random at all. It's as if Bungie is a cruel step parent that just wants to make my life hell. Luckily, I have one (yes 1 after all my raids) Hunger of Crota to make up for it. I have actually contemplating stopping my game time and moving my efforts to another game because of this outwardly ridiculous drop rate...I may give it another couple weeks, we will see.

BrothaMob
D2: Time Wasting Simulator - old
I have almost 2000 hours played and haven't seen a Gally drop since last October. I'm all RNGd out. -
Got mine as a drop from doing ROC Strikes. Same with that sniper rifle that replenishes its own ammo (forgot the name)
-
I dont want it there for couldn't care less either way
-
Seen it drop twice in control matches and one time in the gorgon chest just last week
-
I can't get it
-
Has nothing to do with luck, RNG is a crap shoot at best. Got several hundred hours invested between 3 gaurdians since 1st week out, seems to drop all around me RNG is basic BS, when 1 person has gotten say 10 an has say 60 hours play time an another say has 1000 hours involved an never had it drop. This ain,t RNG, its not earning like alot of you think. Its Bungies way of saying by my deduction screw you, gonna only alow newer players to get Ghone, thunderlord, soris, hawkmoon ect.... Don,t have any of these ether. Stuck using what i do have so screw you RNG you,ve screwed alot of us already so in the end XUR should just sell all of them an be done with it. There now i got it out, don,t feel no better, dam my luck

I don't think it's the case that it's more or less rare than other exotics just that once people get it that's the Exotic they use so we see it more giving the impression that it's common. People may have plenty other exotics they never use because they've got Ghorn - we just don't see what weapons people have unless they're equipped.

Edited by hotpeRIPeri: 4/8/2015 11:51:59 AMDid crota normal last night hoping for the hunger. Got the hunger from crota after getting ghallarhorn from deathsinger. Never rains it pours! I had just had a 3 day break from the game. This was my first break in months, not sure if that influenced the drop?
-
Just got it
-
Got mine from xur when he first sold it
-
I got my first from deathsinger yesterday. And my buddy got his 3rd from crucible getting a .7 KD!
-
Just got 1 on normal crota helping my low level friend through raid. And i have had more Then 6
-
I got mine from a legendary engram i found

Alright, so let me clear something up, first of all, Gjallarhorn has the same drop rate of any exotic. they aren't going to make it have a lower chance of dropping just because it is "the Gjallarhorn", second of all, the only reason so many people want it is because of the wolfpack rounds for Crota. as we all know Crota is the laggiest part of the game, so when you hit Crota, your rocket may not do damage do to lag, therefore the wolfpack rounds are compensating for that loss of damage. I think we just think its rare because when we get an exotic we don't have, we then have a lower chance of getting an exotic that we don't have.

something in between.. with TDB Bungie confirmed that they can have a dynamic Loot system.. e.g. certain drops will become more likely if you hadnt this drop so far.. like armor in CE.. OF COURSE the can reverse the effekt and augment tho droprate for gjallarhorn for people who actually have it.. why is this something Bungie would like to have? well, since player trading is not possible, you cant do shit with your 10th Gjallarhorn.. except sharding it. BUT there is a side effect if people see it dropping now and then.. they will continue to try to get it.. and this keeping on playing, since "it's so close"... so my guess is that Ghorn is dropped with 2% change by gjallarhorn owners and 0.1% by non gjallarhorn owners..

Edited by Jin: 3/31/2015 10:30:55 PMAll exotics have the same drop rate (apart from raid exclusives and bounties) People still fail to see this. The reason Gjallarhorn seems rare is because it's the most wanted gun. So naturally you will hear more people bitch about not owning one. Example No one cared about the red death. But once hard crota was released. It magically became the second rarest gun in the forums. Even though xur sold it twice before dlc.
-
Think no rarer than other exotics. Just the most used other than icebreaker id say...
-
Pretty sure everyone has one..except moi. That's what it seems like. RNG is not kind.
-
I always hear stories of everybody getting great drops but ive played from day one and the rarest drop ive had is the monte carlo for me. I never got one piece of raid gear from vog. Some people just dont get drops like that

Beware the wolfpack rounds sometimes don't go off
