The FAMILY MAN struggle
Any other family peeps out there have to balance Destiny with work, kids and a wife/girlfriend? My wife puts up with Destiny but it's mostly because I don't play till kids are tucked in and read to and I try and watch a show of my wife's choosing before jumping on. Stay on late get up early... Worth it!
What is everyone's ritual for getting to Destiny without getting in trouble with the family?
Edit: I love that I'm not alone in this. I can't believe how many people have the identical schedule as mine! Must be why I always find good randoms when I'm on, we are all family men. #destinydadsunite

Edit: WOW GUYS AND GALS!!! I woke up to hundreds more comments and 99% of them are positive! It's amazing to see so many good family peeps finding a healthy balance between gaming, work and family. You people are amazing and I'm not sure I've smiled so much reading these posts.

Im a plumber 6 days a week, have a wife and a 2 week old baby, i have 2 nights a week for gaming (tuesdays and thursdays) and do strikes etc for an hour or so once everyones in bed

I can get on Friday and Saturday nights once the wife and 2 boys are in bed, I play from 10pm till 3-4 am, that is normally enough time to get everything done

I feel your pain... I just play after the wife and kid go to bed. I get in 3-4 solid hours a night.

spend quality time with my gf , watch a movie or something and by the time it hits 2am shes already tired and says "you can play destiny now" .... SCOREEEE :'D

Only child, but juggling is rough, I go to a top-tier demanding high school so I have live 12+ hrs of homework every weekend and sports tournaments. Try to fit as much destiny as possible on weekends.

1 ReplyDon't have quite the same problem. Pretty much empty nesters. Youngest daughter is away at college. My wife really can't understand why I play video games. My gametime consists of an hour before I go to work and then a few hours 3-7pm before the wife gets home. No gaming after she gets home and rarely on during the weekend. She has lots of honey doos for the weekends.

It is a struggle lol. 2 kids and a wife. She doesn't like the game... I've recently backed off it a bit. With the weather and all...nothing else to do, i started catching myself doing 2,3 hours a day. I can put the baby down, hang out with her, then jump on the ps4 but honestly after all that im ready to crash out myself. I'm hoping for an early day tomorrow so i can link up with a couple good guys on my friends list and we can knock out the NF/weekly on our characters. Hard to really plan anything or 100% sure commit time to do raids though. I rarely raid, wish i could. It's the single best part of the game. Yea, jonny, i get where ur comin from bro. Completely. Have a good one! I'm off to bed

Yep same. I do bed time. Then watch a show with the wife. Then on to destiny. That's why I have 3 of the same characters.

Daughter in bed roughly 19.00-20.00, the mrs is down stairs watching her pish in the living room and im upstairs in the bedroom playing destiny

1 Replygot a girlfriend, no kids. when ever she get on my nerves and is pissing me off I just called her scrub. It get her mad everytime since I refuse to tell her what it means hahaha.

My little girl go's to bed at 19:00 I bought my wife a tablet so she can watch Netflix and I can use the tv. So around 19:15/30 it's game time and my wife is watching a series on Netflix. Both on the couch. Pretty nice! I play till 21:00/30 because I have to get up at 03:00 everyday (trucker). And when I have a day off I play more hours.
