Any other family peeps out there have to balance Destiny with work, kids and a wife/girlfriend? My wife puts up with Destiny but it's mostly because I don't play till kids are tucked in and read to and I try and watch a show of my wife's choosing before jumping on. Stay on late get up early... Worth it!
What is everyone's ritual for getting to Destiny without getting in trouble with the family?
Edit: I love that I'm not alone in this. I can't believe how many people have the identical schedule as mine! Must be why I always find good randoms when I'm on, we are all family men. #destinydadsunite
Edit: We got our first Toxic Troll response. So I would like to give the award for biggest buzzkill to SEANY, You earned it bro.
Edit: WOW GUYS AND GALS!!! I woke up to hundreds more comments and 99% of them are positive! It's amazing to see so many good family peeps finding a healthy balance between gaming, work and family. You people are amazing and I'm not sure I've smiled so much reading these posts.
Edit: over 1000 replies!!!! Nice to see so many awesome people out there and hardly any trolls! Stay real guardians.

I'm afraid I lost my gf/best friend because of my addiction to D.

Just work and Destiny. The late nights take their toll sometimes at work

Work, school, GF. GF knows Tuesday is game time.

Edited by ZER0ez: 3/4/2015 3:28:19 AM2 kids and a wife. We both work full time. I constantly have to do honey-do's and favors, so that when the kids go to bed she uses the TV first and then I get it afterwards without her staying up until I'm too exhausted. She barely approves of video games but is okay with me playing when she is gone or asleep. I have sacrificed so much sleep for destiny these last 5 months, haha.

Make deals with the devil my man. She wants something=game time, just be careful or you'll end up sitting through some horrible romantic comedies. Or she picks the restaurant.......actually ate at a place that had no meat or beer! Ha ha wanna know what a kale and Brussel sprout salad taste like cause I know..... i know. Oh the horror. Need hug sad now.

I always put my son to sleep first. And my wife knows that she is meant to be seen and not heard.
bwahaha
-
I know how you feel. All my cats need to be fed every day.
-
We have a 5 month old girl here. She still wants mommy so I get to play a bit. I know it won't last so I'm on when I can be. Still washing bottles and making them(breastfeeding didn't work out for us) diaper duty too. I'm lucky though. My wife says I was a gamer long before we met so she doesn't expect me to change

I run nightfall and Heroic for one character a night. Then I'm up early Saturday morning to run Crota hard before the family wakes up.
-
This is exactly how I do it too :) Dod is a great group, glad to be a part of it.

My husband works 48 hours a week. I play a lot more than him. We really don't care to go out anywhere because we are cheap lol. Our idea of quality time is playing video games together. I guess we are just lucky. The kids get the living room to themselves and I set up Netflix with cartoons. I leave snacks and juice and they are usually set for two hours at a time. We have our tvs and systems set up next to each other in our room because he hates being on the mic. I play for a few hours in the morning and after everyone is in bed at night.
-
I get to game 2 or 3 nights a week after 10pm. I've read a lot of comments on here and the one about the guy sneaking out with an 80% rate made me lol. My wife considers going to bed with her as spending time together. So that sucks for me. Not so bad anymore since I got gally a month ago... But it'll kick in hard with How again.

#dinnertime Me whenever I get on lol

This is spot on accurate the true guardians

On a related note, do you think if it was reading, a sport, or some other activity, you would be able to do it anytime you wanted?
-
I play in the early morning hours while my wife is at school and my son is asleep. I used to play from 10p-2a but my wife started complaining.
-
I have 2 guaranteed days when the wife goes upstairs and watches netflix while I just play destiny all night. MONDAY AND TUESDAY. lol usually stay off Wednesday and spend time with the wife. Other days I play when she falls asleep for a couple hours and then when she's working and I'm off, I play from the time she leaves till she gets home. Balance lol
-
I also play when kiddo goes to sleep. Getting up early on the weekends is a ritual and quick ten min daily mission before work. Find it hard to line up the raid even though I connected with lots of new destiny friends. So lfg is a life saver.

Mine is more of a family guy struggle
-
Same boat here. On top of your techniques, I have an exercise bike in front of a TV and I try to bike for an hour each day (and play Destiny at the same time). Tough for her to argue against me working out.
-
I take my wife out to dinner, on the drive back, she calls dibs on the controller so she can play rumble lol
-
Im n the same boat brother and in that same order as well. The struggle is real

Rinse and repeat. I get about 3 hrs 4 to 5 days a week
-
Wait till Friday, to play since I have school and don't want to be busy with homework.
-
Watch the kids till dinner is over give my one year old his bath pass him off to the wife for bed time I go do the dishes and clean the litter box that usually wins me a night to play.
