Any other family peeps out there have to balance Destiny with work, kids and a wife/girlfriend? My wife puts up with Destiny but it's mostly because I don't play till kids are tucked in and read to and I try and watch a show of my wife's choosing before jumping on. Stay on late get up early... Worth it!
What is everyone's ritual for getting to Destiny without getting in trouble with the family?
Edit: I love that I'm not alone in this. I can't believe how many people have the identical schedule as mine! Must be why I always find good randoms when I'm on, we are all family men. #destinydadsunite
Edit: We got our first Toxic Troll response. So I would like to give the award for biggest buzzkill to SEANY, You earned it bro.
Edit: WOW GUYS AND GALS!!! I woke up to hundreds more comments and 99% of them are positive! It's amazing to see so many good family peeps finding a healthy balance between gaming, work and family. You people are amazing and I'm not sure I've smiled so much reading these posts.
Edit: over 1000 replies!!!! Nice to see so many awesome people out there and hardly any trolls! Stay real guardians.

The struggle

Man, this is exactly my life. I guess we should feel lucky that we won't get burned out as fast.
-
Stay up late and rock it out during weekend nap time.
-
Ritual is the same. It is sad that sleep has to be sacrificed to get some me time. I feel you.
-
I feel ya. My wife hates me gaming anyway. She's always reminding me of the things I could be doing instead of gaming haha

I usually play from 11pm-1am. My daughter goes down about 9pm. The wife and I spend some time together and she usually hits the bed at 11. After that is game time. I try and keep it quiet though so not to wake them. After I'm done playing, I try and sleep til 6am when the little monster wakes up.
-
Wake up @ 5AM & play til the family wakes up. This usually buys me about 2hrs.
-
Get up early stay up late, get wife hooked on something on Netflix... Pick and choose your raid sections.
-
I watch the Bachelor with the wife on Monday nights and I'm good to go the rest of the week.
-
That feeling when your bro is texting you about a raid team he is on and youre stuck watching mob wives with your old lady
-
I play from 6 to 8. And then at 930 when everyone is bathed and in bed
-
I'm fortunate I guess. I have a wife and 2 kids but my wife is cool with me playing. I spend with everyone and still ha e lots of time to play. Also my son is 11 and we play Destiny together.
-
I get up around 3 am on my two days off and play until around 8 when my wife and two kids get up.
-
When my sister isnt using the tv im good to go
-
This is sooooooo me lol. Though my wife plays as well to a lesser extent but i feel for you man!
-
Schedule a raid early. Wait for my 15 month old to go to bed. Sunday night raid every week. Has worked for me so far
-
Pretty much the same, if I want to jump on early (to meet up with an organised raid or NF team) I make a deal with her in exchange for various household chores. But I did end up staying up until 12.45am last night doing NF, Weekly then Crota HM
-
But srsly I do same as you
-
why procreate, oh well done already. son 2 years 8 months wants my PS4 controller :) it's the old put him to bed than Raid, except if he wakes up and I have to tell the raid party that i will be back in 10 mins :( .... believe me i know how unkewl that is lol... fortunatly him and his mom like their cartoon/tv time ( that's why the have their tv :) so it cuts me some slack there, cuz i hate tv... PS4 for the win
-
Use condoms and drop off girlfriend at mall = game time !!!!
-
I set up a "raid night" that was approved by the S/O. On weekends, we go out and do stuff during the day so that once we're home, she wants "me" time and I get to play Destiny. :)
-
Same here bro. Got wife and two kids and work full time. Usually all of us our home by 630. Have dinner and spend some time together til 8-9 when kids and wife are in bed I get on and play as late as I can then have to get up early again for another long day. But I agree with you. I'm so addicted that it's worth it.

Edited by Puppiez: 3/4/2015 1:07:03 AMI'm pretty lucky, my wife plays aswell the only argument we have about it is who is going to play :). normally she will play while I'm at work and the kids are in bed then i play when I get home from work. During the day we play a bit and just pass the controller between us depending on who is busy doing something else or not

I usually game whilst the missus watches her tv shows after the kid has gone to bed. At the moment, due to new baby daddy duty, I've put involving games such as Destiny on ice until hes sleeping through the night. I am amusing myself til then with Civ 5 (turn based, so can be dropped at a moments notice) and lurking on here to keep abreast of patches, developments and Xur sales. Civ 5 is addictive as hell. As if I need another addictive game. 😵

I have been pushing my luck lately. Playing a little more than I should. My misses is amazing and so is my baby girl. So I treat them as often as I can.
-
I pretty much do the same as you. As long as I take care of all the kids and honey do's, as well as the occasional extra mile (watch one of her shows) then I have a happy home and get to game.
