Instead of the orange glue, do a police theme design. Make it seem like a stun weapon made to 'detain' aliens.
Second, a long range poison? I like the idea, but it's hard enough to manuever in a crucible match without being shot by a dude with a shotgun, sniped by a guy with a Thorn, or charged by a striker. Now I can't run away? Noooope.
