I hear ya.
I've never really slept much, so I've always been able to function on smaller amounts of sleep.
However I have thought about the effects on my metabolism, because I can eat very little and hit the gym a few times a week and still not make any real losses. In the past I was able to drop a few stone easily, but now it's really hard.

Yeah well you might want to try what I mentioned and see what happens. I'm sure if your sleep is affecting your metabolism then it's also affecting your synapses as well. You're probably more aware of metabolism because it's easier to tell when you're ridiculously hungry vs when your brain's performing at 90%
