Whenever I return to the Tower my order of operations is:
Cryptard
Postmaster
Eris
Bounties
Vault
English

I do Postmaster, first. In case he has any engrams that I missed. Then I go to Cryptarch. That way I don't have to double back. Next, I go to the vault to store anything I don't need. Lastly I go to Xander before Eris, because he's closer.

But what if you upgrade your cryptarch? Now you have to double back.

Y eah, that happens occasionally, but it's still less frequent than the number of times that the Postmaster has engrams for me, so I think that over all it's still more efficient to go to the Postmaster first.
