ATT: Bungie Art Guys (Gear/Texture, Jumpships)

Hey, guys! Two outstanding graphical weirdnesses that I haven't seen corrected yet, and am not sure have been mentioned before! 1) "Dirty" Gradient on Warlock Armor - There seems to be a gradient texture on some Warlock armor (particularly the model used for ROBE OF THE EXODUS) where there is a severely evident line on the armor where the "dirty" gradient begins. It basically doesn't fade in/out quite right and there is a clear divide about thigh-level. The default color on ROBE OF THE EXODUS will show the line fine, but it is also visible on Red-dominant Shaders, Double Banshee, and other darker, but intense colors. 2) BIRTH OF HISTORY - This is one of my favorite jumpships in the whole game, but it is apparently missing a chunk of geometry where the wings would attach to the ship. The thing about Birth of History is that the gap looks kinda cool, like the propulsion system is detached from the front of the ship, and there's that pod on the top ... but the front and back sections aren't fully enclosed, so we can see inside of them - as you know, that means seeing all the way through those parts because textures aren't applied to the insides of the models. How to fix it? Well, the easiest way would be to fill in the space with whatever is supposed to be there and glitched out. The COOLEST way to fix it would be to design a new gappy chunk of jumpship geometry, though, that connects the wings, front, back, and the top pod thing, while leaving a window of sorts right through the middle. Hope the right folks see this!

  • I remembered that Destiny Tracker has the ship models (or versions of them) available for viewing, so you can quickly and easily see the error in the Birth of History. http://db.destinytracker.com/inventory/item/2695084041 If you turn the model this way and that way, and maybe twist it a smidge, you can see that there's a missing chunk. It looks neat, but it's not a clean missing chunk, and you can see through/inside other pieces of the ship.
