Could you modify my bow so I am able to draw it faster? Whatever you recommend.

*Hands bow* It is called Likritus O'Nirim. It has as follows: Wielder is granted pinpoint accuracy. Has 2 spell runes engraved on the surface. #1: Nightmare Target is trapped in  a living nightmare for 10 seconds, or if they see through the deception #2 : Likritus' Curse When target it struck, they are cursed, slowing movement speed, as well as losing some of their physical strength

  • Ah, perfect! Runes, quite a reliable source of enchantment. *takes bow* *studies it* Ah yes... These runes are quite detailed, but where does the power source come from? My apologies, old habits of a scientist, questions and questions. I could draw a fast hand rune upon the drawstring, in a somewhat customized form to fit the rather narrow size. But what I do recommend myself is a glove that has runes which interconnect with the quiver and bow, that would have similar runes, to provide a smooth stream of motion and enchantment. May I craft you a glove and see the quiver?

Of course. In regards to the power of the runes, I cannot share it. It is something not to be spoken of in public. Regardless of that, I would like a glove. Here is the quiver, as well. *Hands quiver*

  • My apologies good sir, the strange alter-reality called "real lifé" phased into my existence. I have your items here. I have drawn new runes on the bow, quiver, and glove. This provides an ethereal connection and effects the corporeal, enhancing your hand-to-arrow handling, allowing faster firing. Also, a rune and a few contraptions on my own have been added to the glove... *shows lightly armoured black leather glove that has runes drawn within them and various small machines and switches attached* As I said, the glove acts as a literal and metaphorical "bridge" for the smooth loading of arrows, but I have also added some of my own modifications. The switches on the bottom of the wrist allow for temporary enchantments upon the arrows, powered by the storage units on the top. The temporary enchantments act as modifiers for arrows, giving it a deadlier force based on what's in the storage unit. This is made for quick backup plans depending on what the storage unit holds. It can range from poison to fire, but some experimenting and studying with the "nightmare/curse" runes proved fruitful. *hands glass vial of black smoke, consistently sparking with dark lighting* This, is dark force. Like the curse and nightmares, I managed to draw some energy from... Whatever powers this thing. If you draw the bow with no arrow loaded, it will create a shadow arrow. I'm guessing that this shadow force acts like my fire, but I haven't the slightest idea what the arrow will do to a live target. Loaded into the side compartment, the dark force will (in theory) enhance regular arrows loaded with. Would you like to find out and test it? I can summon a target.

  •
Thank you, my friend!
Alright, I'll summon a test subject. *places vial of blood and sample of bone onto the ground* *places chains on floor* I summon thee, prisoner of research, slave of knowledge, eternally damned experiment, to bend to my will and be called to do your duty once more! *blood breaks free from vial and starts forming into muscle over the bones* *bones start breaking through skin and creating armoured plates along chest* *bone forms over face, creating a literal exoskull and helmet over muscle and skin* *bone plating thickens and skin turns to pale white* Welcome, vessel 5. We require you for a test once more. *vessel 5, fully formed with bone plating and armour, nods in recognition* Stand over there *gestures to a few meters in front of us* and expect an incoming projectile, do not attempt to retaliate or defend. Begin regeneration after observance. *vessel 5 nods and walks over there* Take your shot mate.

*Readies bow* Think I'll try out the Shadow Arrow first. *Draws bow string without arrow readied, and fires* *Target is enveloped with dark energy, and quickly falls to knees, and is almost seemingly pulled into the Abyss* That is... something else. Too powerful to use in the dojo. The Abyss isn't a place one goes voluntarily...

  • *writes down some notes* Learn to control it, friend. The abyss seems to be a pit that drags all who come near its maw, a never ending hunger to devour. But it is also a formidable power. When man tried to harness fire, they burned themselves almost immediately, becoming afraid and weary of this newfound light. But they learned. They learned to control it, creating a beacon of light; a shining sun amidst the darkness trying to take them. So I leave you with the question my friend, is it worth trying to control it? For the real triumph is not seeing the enemy sink beneath the darkness, but seeing the enemy attacked by the darkness you have tamed. If your decision is to further use this newfound power, I will be here to help.

Hmm... yes I see how you could came to that. However, the Abyss is different. Like you said, it.... hungers. It can't be controlled. It will never be sated. I don't know, my friend. 'Twould be a formidable weapon to be used, but I know my limits. I've stared into the Abyss, and it stared back. I could sense it... greed, envy, hunger, these were just the immediate things I sensed. 'Tis a power beyond mere mortals, and should not be tampered with. However... were we able harness it, unlock it's potential, we would be beyond any and all boundaries of power. It would be endless. I think I will continue this, my friend, and I would be honored if you would help me. My natural affinity for the "darkness" should help me avoid the temptations of the Abyss, and with your expertise, we could unlock it's potential.... or be consumed by it. I won't pressure you into a decision, my friend. 'Tis your choice. Just know, if you continue down this road, you may find more than you bargained for. Regardless of that, tell me: Will you help me?

  • The thirst for knowledge is insatiable in itself my friend. Of course I will, to help a fellow warrior wield a newfound power would be an honour. I know how you feel, friend. The flames within me did not always bend to my will. The fire and ash was once a combatant, an inner war to control both vessel and power, not one but both. Even now, I hold multiple entities within as a source of magic and weaponry. Some agrees willingly to lend their aid, others... Were less cooperative in their effort. One of them keeps on fighting, always trying to take the chance to finally burn away its host and reclaim its full form, because as the Abyss wishes to consume, the Fire wishes to burn all in its path. But that is all a story for another day. But, we shall learn to tame this dark power, as I said. I have come up with two options to try and harness the Abyss safely. Option A: We attempt to glean knowledge through the Nightmare. If this power is somehow all connected, then surely one thing can lead to another. The problem with this is that the Nightmare may be a part of the Abyss, but act in a way to adapt to the opponents mind, rather than showing a vision of the Abyss. I don't like the other option, but it's theoretically plausible that more results may come from Option B: We attempt a binding and summoning of a literal host for the Abyss. This will definitely be the most dangerous, as we would have to somehow trap the incarnation and harness it. I am currently thinking of a way to do this, but we would still have to hold it down long enough to drain some of its essence for a binding. The binding would be easy, I would just have to create restriction spells and prisons to bind it so tightly to a weapon. Do not panic, I do have some experience with trapping something close to a god into a weapon.

Hmm... it would logical to go about this carefully, and it would seem option A would be the lesser of two evils... However, I feel pragmatism is needed in a situation like this. While what you said about the "Nightmare" may be true, it would only allow us a glimpse into the Abyss. If we're going to attempt this, I say we go for broke. If we find a living host, while it may be dangerous, and potentially dangerous everyone in the dojo, it rewards could be worth the risk. Just getting another glimpse at the Abyss... I can hardly imagine it. A part of me doesn't want to imagine it at all. So, if you are willing, we should go for Option B. All we need is a host, though it seems unlikely we'll get someone who will do it willingly... Friend, it's likely we will both lose parts of ourselves if we go through with this. Are you willing to continue?
Someday you will have to tell me your story about the fire... I have a rather interesting tale about my dealings with the darkness, if you would care to swap tales.
• A host is easy, I can summon another vessel to be possessed. They're expendable, although I have developed a fondness for them... Right before I kill them horribly. For the binding ritual, I'll need the glove, and I would need to draw binding runes on the bow as well as the quiver, for the same interconnection as the fast hand enchantment. We're only binding this to the bow, to bind it to a living host would be... Well, you'll see what'll happen to the vessel. We'll also do this in a certain pocket dimension of mine, Astra's Roost. Since Astra drifts through time and space, she constantly flies through a dimension of her own making. The fight will be risky, because if something goes wrong the Abyss will have the potential to corrupt all of the dimension, consuming it and making that its physical host. But it will also give you the time to flee if need be. Another reason why we will fight it there is because that is where I have most control of the flames, well, Astra's flames anyway. If it really boils down to it, I'll burn the vessel and the connection out of existence. No, not killing, but literally the history and ethereal form of the vessel. Anything that represents it would burn. So with all this being said, you ready?

  • My apologies. Alright, everything seems to be in order. One last thing though. *waves hand* *vessel 5 is summoned and walks into circle of runes* *I take the bow and quiver and throw it to you* Alright. Here we go. Vessel 5, do not begin regeneration and standby for further orders. I'm sorry about this you bony bastard, I really am. *impales 5 through his stomach* Alright, fire the dark arrow at him.

Always got to be tentacles. *some burn away mid attack* Don't it pull you in, but try to immobilize it. *draws revolver and loads custom rounds* *spins gun, imbuing rounds with fire* Let's go. *fires six shots at oncoming tentacles, dispatching them* Distract him! *more tentacles regrow*
