I ask for no currency my friend. It is always an honour fitting a fellow warrior with my wares, especially if those wares are the first of their arsenal. A middle ground sword hmmm... I have a few options. A regular bastard sword aka hand and a half sword as some call it, is a normal double edges blade that kind of fits the stereotypical "knight" or "English" sword. Nicely balanced, and has a good guard that can be customized even more, but is generally versatile. Or maybe a short sword? Basically a one handed version of this, with a shorter blade (longer than machete, don't worry). Contrary to the misconception, the blades are not actually brutish cleavers and are quite manipulative in its attacks. A katana, a single edged curved blade that maneuvers into the more slashing and cutting techniques, the guard does not cover as much but that can also be changed. Providing a decently sized blade and a two handed grip for good control, this blade is also comes in different variations, such as the wakizashi, a shorter one handed version with a smaller blade. Graceful in its movements, the katana is a worthy weapon for those who prefer draw cuts and slashes. Another, more obscure option would be a scimitar. It's length is decent for a one handed blade, and the thickness provides for good chopping and cutting power, along with its curved structure which contributes to its slashing techniques. Not as hefty as a bastard sword, but more of a thick blade than a katana, the scimitar is quite deceptive in its attacks. Other various suggested blades: Jian: one handed Chinese double edged blade with decent length and very quick movements Daodao: two handed single edged Chinese sword, long in length and great in stopping power I just picked out a few options that I thought best suited your description, we'll talk about enchantments after you pick a specific blade. I can suggest more if you like, but it's all your choice my friend.
Sorry for responding late, just ate at a family dinner.
