You're sidestepping the issue here. I'm not saying that debate is a bad thing, just that it can be done in a mature and constructive manner without the need for profanity. Having a discussion about the positives and negatives of competing brands is fine, as long as it doesn't result in insults and elitism (see OP: lol Sony drones are stupid because the PS4 got one bad exclusive lololol). There obviously needs to be competition for there to be any real steps forward so a company's consumers aren't dominated by a monopoly that never needs to innovate. That's all I'm asserting.

You said console wars are stupid but i disagree and say that is what makes the industry grow. How is that sidestepping?
-
When I said console wars are stupid, I meant the stupid, elitist statements like in the original post. Console wars and friendly debates are two entirely different things.
-
So now you're redefining your statement... who was sidestepping?
-
I'm actually not. If you read my original comment, I'm referring to those elitist statements that I associate with the phrase "console wars." Competition is one thing, belittling is another. That is what I was referring to.
-
You can belittle while competing so you're still drawing divisions where there are none.
-
I don't see how I am. If you think that it's okay to insult someone based on what console they prefer, then you're part of the problem.
-
I think if somebody believes something incorrect and states it as fact is stupid. Which means i am belittling them but i am not wrong.
-
Okay, but then what does stooping to their level accomplish? "Don't argue with idiots because they will drag you down to their level and beat you with experience."
