This includes tv shows and books as well.
When I was 8 I cried during the originial transformers movie (1986) when optimus died, maximum sadness above.
Also, in the Walking dead
I teared up quite a bit when carl had to shoot his own mother in the head to prevent her from turning. Such an emotional scene *sobs*
What has made you experience the deep well of sadness?

Many of the short stories in Halo Evolutions got to me, all the characters dying after you got attached, don't think I cried, possibly a single tear once? Still saddening.

Pretty much any war movie. Particularly Black Hawk Down. There are some gut-wrenching scenes in that movie that get me every time.

Recently, Harry Potter 8 during dinner and movie night with the family: When
Severus Snape
dies and Harry reviews the memory. Very good music and story telling worked very well there. I'd seen it before, but it's very well done. Robin Williams (RIP) movies Patch Adams and What Dreams May Come. Holy cow... Pay it forward
at the end
(duh). All of these things have parenting in common. As a parent I connect way more now to the loss of kids or spouses in movies if it's done right. Do games count? Last of us. The hospital surgery. And following scenes. Seriously... Welled up. I was pretty well floored after that. For a while. Don't know why, it was just so well done.
