Hate Against Kids (Rant)
Hello I am a [u]13 year old[/u] gamer and I play [b]Destiny[/b]. When I join someone or go on [b]raids [/b]I am Called "[i]Squeaker[/i]".
I am apparently someone to laugh at and abuse for being [u]2 years[/u] younger then another person. About 1 in 15 people are nice and don't care. When I need help with a Raid I invite people and ask people for help, then I am abused because I am [u]13 [/u]and have a voice that is kind of high.
I play with[u] 6-9 year old's[/u] if they need help... most other people just bully them and ruin the experience of Communication on this awesome [b]MMO[/b]. I love [b]Destiny [/b]it is fascinating and enjoyable... but about [b]70%[/b] of the community are bullies towards "Little Kids". If you don't want to play with someone because they have a voice that you absolutely can't stand, don't be a Bully just say "Sorry I really don't want to do this... I want to do other things" as appose to hurting feelings and being a dick.
You were a kid once whats wrong with it?
If they are screaming in the microphone and being really Annoying then give them a chance tell them your gonna kick them if they keep going, then if they keep going don't retaliate just be chill and say "Hey you had your warning... sorry your being kicked".
The thread is about people being bullies after they say a few words in a high voice. Also if they try to be funny don't laugh and say that wasn't really that funny try something else. About 4 years ago I got Xbox with COD and I did these things to so I can understand why people gave them this reputation. I feel it should be changed a little bit. Fighting fire with fire never works out it's just a waste of time.
If this is changed I would think [b]Destiny [/b]would be more inviting and people under [u]14 [/u] would enjoy it a lot more!
Also shut up about ratings. Look at the movies people sneak in all the time your not gonna stop anything.
In Australia you are allowed to play it so you can't say crap about kids from Aussie. Think of something without involving ratings or do you need to rely on them?

Elitists everywhere who claim they are to good to help lower levels when actually, they're to shit to be able to do so. Everyone you talk to is either nice or a massive egotistical -blam!-. Each day I meet someone who eventually tells me to kill myself for no reason and it -blam!-ing sucks. I'm happy to play with 'squeakers' because they don't have the same attitude as people who claim to be more 'mature'. I don't think I even know what that word means anymore thanks to this community....

I'll play alongside any Guardian - that said i'm wary of playing with KinderGuardians (age not experience wise), particularly in raids if they are the host. Only because i've previously been through VOG (back in the days when that was hard) and effectively taught the raid, only to get kicked just before they killed Aetheon. Never had that happen when playing with "mature" community members - that said,i get a lot more smack talk from the "mature" ones. Swings and round abouts i guess

This game shouldn't have been made for a "T" rating. They should have kept it at "M" , just like Halo. Then this stuff wouldn't happen. Well, never mind. Parents would still hand kids mature rated games. So I guess it's no different.

Was doing crotas end back in the day, when a guy with his son joined. They hadn't done crota before but I wasn't stressed about it. The guy quickly picked it up and was explaining it to his son very well. I had to go before we finished the raid but they were well into it at that stage. So, kids who can pick up what's going on, aren't shouting, etc I'm cool with that.

I try to play with an open mind, but majority of the kids I'd play/help tend to just run head first into the fray; not listening to the plan or helping others. Just go & hope for the best. [spoiler]Half them can't shut up. When you're older, you'll be like 'these damn kids'[/spoiler]

I don't mind playing with squeakers as long as they are chilled out! The hyperactive squeaker that knows it all and gets pissy just do my nut in and unfortunately more and more squeakers are like that so I just stop playing with them! Nothing against them just don't play with me!

Your post highlights one of the biggest problems of youth today. You think that you should be spared from anything that might "hurt your feelings". In modern society, boys do not go through the same rites of passage that were ubiquitous in tribal/primitive cultures and therefore are not made to associate hardships with gaining maturity and status in the male community. In these rites, boys are expected to endure intense physical and psychological trauma - and frequently are expected to do so without showing any distress. What you need to understand is that it is hardwired in the male brain to show aggression to other weaker males. I'm not saying it's "right" but any time you put yourself in a situation with older males, you must accept the possibility that you'll be treated harshly. Develop the confidence and resolve to not let it bother you, and just move on. Don't show distress. Build strength in yourself instead of asking others to compensate for your weakness. If you have a hard time with guys in a multiplayer video game, just wait until you get to high school and have to shower with seniors. Toughen up son.

I don't have a problem with kids but most of them are really bad at the game and think they know everything. I had this one guy who always talked about exotics like they were his and only he had a special version of that exotic ex: oh my gosh! Carrot MY vex mythoclast does so much damage, and it's got this awesome perk on it that is so good for MY vex.

4 RepliesWhat have I done? I left Destiny for a bit and I came back to over 9000 votes on the pole and 47 pages of responses. Working as a Community Manager and doing a lot with my life, I realized this will never change and people will judge people for basically anything they can tell from speaking to them(Age, Gender, Pitch, How weird your voice is etc.) I have given up hope but hopefully this post has impacted some people, I am back to Destiny now and I can't wait to start some Raids! I am going to start going on the forums and I hope we can all understand kids and realize some are annoying and little shits, others are good and chill. My break was PC gaming <3
