Hello I am a 13 year old gamer and I play Destiny. When I join someone or go on raids I am Called "Squeaker".
I am apparently someone to laugh at and abuse for being 2 years younger then another person. About 1 in 15 people are nice and don't care. When I need help with a Raid I invite people and ask people for help, then I am abused because I am 13 and have a voice that is kind of high.
I play with 6-9 year old's if they need help... most other people just bully them and ruin the experience of Communication on this awesome MMO. I love Destiny it is fascinating and enjoyable... but about 70% of the community are bullies towards "Little Kids". If you don't want to play with someone because they have a voice that you absolutely can't stand, don't be a Bully just say "Sorry I really don't want to do this... I want to do other things" as appose to hurting feelings and being a dick.
You were a kid once whats wrong with it?
If they are screaming in the microphone and being really Annoying then give them a chance tell them your gonna kick them if they keep going, then if they keep going don't retaliate just be chill and say "Hey you had your warning... sorry your being kicked".
The thread is about people being bullies after they say a few words in a high voice. Also if they try to be funny don't laugh and say that wasn't really that funny try something else. About 4 years ago I got Xbox with COD and I did these things to so I can understand why people gave them this reputation. I feel it should be changed a little bit. Fighting fire with fire never works out it's just a waste of time.
If this is changed I would think Destiny would be more inviting and people under 14 would enjoy it a lot more!
Also shut up about ratings. Look at the movies people sneak in all the time your not gonna stop anything.
In Australia you are allowed to play it so you can't say crap about kids from Aussie. Think of something without involving ratings or do you need to rely on them?
Australia has different spelling and grammar and I am 13 get off my case.
I'm 13 as well but I don't suffer from this since my voice is very deep but the kids that have super high voices and scream and suck ass at the game give "squeakers" a bad rep. And it IS most children. Usually I'm welcoming to kids but if they suck at the game I need skilled players.

Edited by WorthyNOOICE: 7/19/2015 6:58:45 PMI can bear with kids as long we get the job done but sometimes I feel kids can be annoying sometimes like they think they're better than you and have better "skills" than you it's really annoying
-
The most annoying thing I've seen about kids playing is that they don't understand that I don't have to do everything for them. I can't tell you how many times so little kid tried to get me to do all the work for them.
-
''under 14 would enjoy it a lot more!'' Destiny is rated T for Teen, you have to be 13 to play this, if you are 6-9 years old and admitting that, you should be banned on site. You also have to be 13 to crate an account on here, if you are admitting to being 6 playing Destiny, you are breaking their terms of service.

I literally just hate on everyone. I've never picked on anyone for being a squeaker, because I know its something that really can't be helped, but it does get on my nerves. Usually I'm pretty chill with everyone until they inevitably do something to piss me off, and then I call them out for being a dumbass. I'm basically the Red Forman of Destiny. You might not know who that is because its a little before your time. And because you're a dumbass.

I wouldn't take it so personal. There are a lot of toxic people out there. I no longer join randoms for any activities due to the almost surety of running into disrespectful people...I am 42. What may appear to be a prejudice against your age group may often just be an excuse; they'll find something wrong with nearly everyone. Hope you find a group of respectful people to play with.

Pitch of voice should have no bearing, and simply telling someone in a civil manner to not yell should be an easy accomplishment... But, as you've experienced, it is not. There is no fix. Online interactions, you have to deal with what you face. Best advice, if you encounter someone like this, block them, and move on. Posting awareness, ranting, that won't solve anything. People are, and will be what they are. I don't have hope for change. Just cope with it the best you can.

I cant deal with squeakers I'm not a bully, but I cant play seriously when they complain.
-
Hey man I too play destiny aswell and use to have squeaky voice. Just find new friends. If your friends are giving you a hard time there not worth being on your list. Plus keep in mind you might sound different on mic so don't worry about it:)
-
70% maybe a low number, it's different times now.. When I was playing games at that age their was no online play we had 8bit nes, some people are just dbags
-
There is a difference between you and a squeaker. A squeaker is a kid who is constantly yelling, bitching, and telling everyone what to do when we already know what to do. A squeaker screams whenever they die and blames it on other people. A squeaker blows out my microphone when he/she gets a Ghorn and won't shut up about it. You are a young gamer, just a gamer who likes to play the game but is young. I have no problem playing with young gamers. I have a problem playing with annoying squeakers.
-
Your writing skills are exceptional for your age! Sorry to see that's how you get treated. Sometimes people are just self-conscious and only only want to play within their age group. It's a comfort thing that ends up being a form of discrimination. Personally, I'll play with anyone who isn't constantly swearing and/or dying.

Edited by Linc00: 7/19/2015 6:19:54 PMI'm 14 and have a deep voice, but I switch with my 12 year old brother often while in the middle of raids and it really freaks people out. But besides that I don't care how old you are, you can be annoying at 5 AND 45. I'll play with anyone
add me on PS3 lincbrew4
Edited by Hugh Janus: 7/19/2015 6:18:38 PMLol, im 16 and people think i'm a squeaker!!!
-
In the UK, destiny is rated 16, therefore I have a problem with you playing.
-
Sorry kid I have 2 sons and 2 daughters I play destiny to escape the sound of their high pitched whining. No offense
-
You're 13 so I have no problem with you. I would never play with the 6-9 year olds you mentioned
-
I don't think people understand that destiny is rated t for teen which means 13 plus not 13 and under and if you scream in your mic like a banshee I will kick you and I am 13
-
I feel your pain man. I played Halo 2 a ton when I was your age and heard all the same drop your balls bullshit. I remember that and treat kids with respect until they prove they don't deserve it. Unfortunately a large part of dudes in their 20s and 30s lack the maturity of plenty of teenagers on this game.

Edited by wtw0987: 7/19/2015 6:16:41 PMIm 13 and i still get kicked for this stuff. I KNOW haw to do the raids, and i have good weapons, but i still get kicked.
-
I've played with kids that aren't annoying. I think the worst age range is actually 14-19ish. And there are actually a lot of dipshit adults too. Basically it's all about how you act and not your voice or age.
-
Im in the same boat, dont even talk half the time cause i know they will be mean or bully me
-
People act like that when the majority of little kids are no as smart so they don't listen as well a mature player and they do dumb thing
-
Yea people don't have a problem with me cause my voice isn't really high and I try to keep my mic on mute most of the time
-
I'm 14 and I never get called a squeaker
-
Edited by Pyrotech707: 7/19/2015 5:46:52 PMIm glad to play with kids as long as they act mature. The pitch of your voice is irrelevant, what words you make with your voice. I'll play with someone of any age as long as they don't yell and complain about everyone.
