Hello I am a 13 year old gamer and I play Destiny. When I join someone or go on raids I am Called "Squeaker".
I am apparently someone to laugh at and abuse for being 2 years younger then another person. About 1 in 15 people are nice and don't care. When I need help with a Raid I invite people and ask people for help, then I am abused because I am 13 and have a voice that is kind of high.
I play with 6-9 year old's if they need help... most other people just bully them and ruin the experience of Communication on this awesome MMO. I love Destiny it is fascinating and enjoyable... but about 70% of the community are bullies towards "Little Kids". If you don't want to play with someone because they have a voice that you absolutely can't stand, don't be a Bully just say "Sorry I really don't want to do this... I want to do other things" as appose to hurting feelings and being a dick.
You were a kid once whats wrong with it?
If they are screaming in the microphone and being really Annoying then give them a chance tell them your gonna kick them if they keep going, then if they keep going don't retaliate just be chill and say "Hey you had your warning... sorry your being kicked".
The thread is about people being bullies after they say a few words in a high voice. Also if they try to be funny don't laugh and say that wasn't really that funny try something else. About 4 years ago I got Xbox with COD and I did these things to so I can understand why people gave them this reputation. I feel it should be changed a little bit. Fighting fire with fire never works out it's just a waste of time.
If this is changed I would think Destiny would be more inviting and people under 14 would enjoy it a lot more!
Also shut up about ratings. Look at the movies people sneak in all the time your not gonna stop anything.
In Australia you are allowed to play it so you can't say crap about kids from Aussie. Think of something without involving ratings or do you need to rely on them?
Australia has different spelling and grammar and I am 13 get off my case.
Stopped after you mentioned emotions and feelings, those are weaknesses so throw them to the curb.

Edited by R0C95: 6/21/2015 11:35:38 PMI won't play with kids. Period. I know there are plenty ok ones out there, but a few bad seeds have ruined it for the rest of them.
-
I agree. I have several people that I help put on my friends list that are younger than me and I've only had to remove 2 of them in the entire time I've had my Xbox (roughly 3-4 years) simply because they were not only annoying for telling me how to play like them (incorrectly) but their teamwork was atrocious. POE and raids are about teamwork and communication. Not running off because you don't want to listen
-
I was lucky my balls dropped when I was 12, buy honestly I don't really care what people sound like just the people who are annoying.
-
I'm a teenager so does that count
-
I quit playing with squeakers, done. I gave them plenty of chances to prove their stereotypes wrong, and I'm not doing it anymore.
-
I don't mind playing with kids, but I do mind playing with kids who won't shut up or think they know everything
-
68% in this thread are kids

Edited by Veldoodle: 6/21/2015 11:14:41 PMyou should see what it's like to join a guild in WoW or any other real mmo. Very few take people under 18 into their guilds. Stop complaining and prove yourself through performance. Right now it doesn't look like you are proving anything with those stats

Abused is defiantly not the right use of words. Something more like miss treated. Or bullied maybe.
-
It's not weird for people to want to play with others their own age. Find a group of people your own age and you won't have to worry about the thing. It would be so much stranger if adults enjoyed spending time with small children.
-
Actual age means nothing to me online. Maturity age does, however.
-
Sometimes mics are jerks to you and you sound like a squeaker. I'm 12 and my friend said I sound like a 15 yr old
-
Edited by MXAdvent: 6/21/2015 10:07:59 PMI have no problems with squeakers. Matter of fact, I had to ask for one to help me with lvl 32 PoE because me and my buddy kept getting stretched too thin in Round 4 and kept wiping.
We beat the boss.
-
I'm 34 only like 28's accept me!
-
I am the same. I'm 12. I have a somewhat high voice on a mic and people always kick me, and it's SUPER hard to find groups! It's so annoying!
-
You seem rather mature, it seems like a lot more about you has developed, but apparently not your voice...
-
The game is rated T for teen. Older people- don't be rude to younger kids. Younger kids- don't be -blam!-ing annoying.

Edited by Lupus Infectum: 6/21/2015 7:29:19 PMI have no problem with kids as long as they aren't annoying. Personally I'm 16 but my voice is on more on a "feminine" side. That may be because I'm gay or at least that's what people say because I'm really open about it. I honestly don't care and I really don't talk much because I have really bad social anxiety and people are usually like oh ok that's fine but talk sometimes. I find most of the time the ones who usually don't like children are either A. Older and want to talk about things they understand or B. 12-14 year olds who have a deep voice and think they are cool or something stupid. That's just what I think, well that or it's just because sometimes kids can be really annoying sometimes. Trust me I've ran into 14-22 year old people who act more like children than actually children. It really matters about how mature you are, not necessarily your age.

Everyone here just gave me double aids.
-
Well said msg me if you ever want help with any Raids, Nightfalls or PoE. I'd be happy to help. GT: Same as above
-
I was in your shoes not too long ago back in the MW2 days (I'm 16 now). Just don't talk a lot and tell people about all the stuff you want and have. Younger players tend to do this a lot. Whenever my friends and I do raids we're fine with young kids and usually laugh about their voice of if they were annoying after
-
There have been 3 children who have been on my friend's list. They were cool, for quite awhile. Then one day one snapped on me for no reason, he called me a bitch so I said -blam!- trying to help you with raids and PoE, I'm never speaking to you again, and blocked him. Then I blocked another on GTA, after he -blam!-ed my heist experience 3 times. The third is slowly slipping. Ripping my buddy off in a gameshare trade, and constantly joining my parties with his falsetto 'SOLAR CAN YOU HELP ME WITH EVERYTHING IN THE -blam!-ING GAME' and then in the middle, he'd leave randomly. So no, I trust them no more.
-
Perhaps I can give a few tips since I was in your shoes not too long ago (I'm 20). First, do NOT send people messages in game. I say this from experience because I get them quite often and most of the times I don't want to help you with whatever task you are looking to do because as someone who works and is in college, my time is limited and most days I just wanna mess around with friends that I don't get to see too often because of our schedules. I usually ignore any in game messages from fan do people anyways. I suggest using the recruitment section and find people looking to do the same objective as you. Second, act mature and don't talk a lot. This might sound mean but it's from experience. Often times when I had a high pitch voice I would get almost immediately kicked. So when I joined them, I would stay quite unless I had to say something and just show my skills and that I can play just as good if not better than the other people. Once your group get situated well, start talking to them. Just be really chill and don't get too excited about stuff if you do get hyper easily (Unless it's a Ghallajorn). Hope this helps

Edited by bilbo t baginzz: 6/21/2015 9:59:03 PMWhat i tend to find with Younger people.. is they dont know when to such up. We play with this guy who is 14 and he tells me his -blam!-ing life story every time he is online.. just gotta go to the toilet guys.. im back guys.. oh mums calling me guys.. oh i got dinner guys mum cooked a roast... im back guys the roast was good... guys im in the outpost.. guys i just picked up some bounties... *its saturday* guys i found Xur he is selling blah blah blah.. Last night i met another young guy just after i attempted trials with 3 titans ( i -blam!-ing hate titans for PvP) we failed for like 2 hours didnt get flawless.. then he just comes in asking questions and then talking about what rolls we should aim for on shotguns and all this other shit.. i had to tell him to shut the -blam!- up like 10 times and eventually muted him because he just talks over everyone. Apart from that i dont care how old people are when i play with them.
