Hello I am a 13 year old gamer and I play Destiny. When I join someone or go on raids I am Called "Squeaker".
I am apparently someone to laugh at and abuse for being 2 years younger then another person. About 1 in 15 people are nice and don't care. When I need help with a Raid I invite people and ask people for help, then I am abused because I am 13 and have a voice that is kind of high.
I play with 6-9 year old's if they need help... most other people just bully them and ruin the experience of Communication on this awesome MMO. I love Destiny it is fascinating and enjoyable... but about 70% of the community are bullies towards "Little Kids". If you don't want to play with someone because they have a voice that you absolutely can't stand, don't be a Bully just say "Sorry I really don't want to do this... I want to do other things" as appose to hurting feelings and being a dick.
You were a kid once whats wrong with it?
If they are screaming in the microphone and being really Annoying then give them a chance tell them your gonna kick them if they keep going, then if they keep going don't retaliate just be chill and say "Hey you had your warning... sorry your being kicked".
The thread is about people being bullies after they say a few words in a high voice. Also if they try to be funny don't laugh and say that wasn't really that funny try something else. About 4 years ago I got Xbox with COD and I did these things to so I can understand why people gave them this reputation. I feel it should be changed a little bit. Fighting fire with fire never works out it's just a waste of time.
If this is changed I would think Destiny would be more inviting and people under 14 would enjoy it a lot more!
Also shut up about ratings. Look at the movies people sneak in all the time your not gonna stop anything.
In Australia you are allowed to play it so you can't say crap about kids from Aussie. Think of something without involving ratings or do you need to rely on them?
Australia has different spelling and grammar and I am 13 get off my case.
Mics don't help since they distort voices, and usually higher pitches become really annoying. That being said, if they are competent, and don't scream and such then I'm fine with them.
-
Hey mate, don't worry about me. A couple of my friends are 10 and younger and I find them really cute and funny. This one friend of mine is 7-8 and he has to have someone else with him in CE at all times because the monsters kinda scare him. It's awesome, and plus that same kid has his dad play with him. It's so cute.

Sad to say, but there's a disturbingly high amount of immature adults in the gaming community. Honestly, some of the adults I've played with are more whiney, annoying, and immature than some of the kids and teens I've been in games with. I don't care how old you are, or how high your voice is, just don't be annoying (that goes for everyone).
-
Never play with them. :)

I don't get why people have to be dicks toward some of the younger kids. I'm fifteen and I play with squeakers sometimes; they aren't all bad! Yes maybe sometimes a raid full of screaming kids gets really annoying and you want to quit right away. Other times you could run into squeakers that are fun to play with. Also, did you know that some squeakers act that way because they get so stressed out from being bullied?! How do I know this, you might ask? Because I personally and virtually know little kids thirteen and younger that tell my friends and I this! Honestly, I would not even consider most thirteen year olds to be squeakers! I am not the only one who believes this and I know that for sure! In a nutshell, some squeakers are annoying and others are not. Either way, us older people should not give the younger kids crap, just because their voice squeaks. We need to be more mature about this. Bullying younger kids is completely immature and hurtful to them. That is all I have to say. Maybe some people should just think about what they just read.

It's unfortunate that this happens to you, and other fellow squeakers. But the problem is that most young people you find yourself playing with are always... 1. Rude and obnoxious. Most children I've played with scream and rage over the smallest things, like for example one time a young kid ran out of heavy and wanted all of us to stop and do that stupid heavy ammo glitch. When the rest of us said "no, just burn a synth and play on" he started screaming to the point he was almost in tears and then started calling us things that would get you punched in the face IRL. All because we didn't do what he wanted. 2. Blame others for their lack of skill, or blame others for mistakes that obviously were completely on them. I've had squeakers lose their shit because a Supplicant blew them up and I wasnt there to "watch his back" even though he said "don't worry about me im a one man army" 3. Crack awful racist/other hateful jokes constantly and won't stop when asked. Squeaker: *Makes some stupid joke about black people, and keeps making them" Me: Come on man that's not funny, can't you hear that none of us are laughing? Squeaker: Stfu loser, just because you are a n****r lover.. Me: Whoa whoa hold on do you hear that? Squeaker: What? Me: it's the sound of squeaker breaking orbit! *kicks player* Look I can go on and on but that's not really the point I'd like to make. The thing is that all of the horrible kids we've played with have given the majority of young players a bad name. And we don't want to deal with them. Plain as that. People are going to judge you, whether your mature or not. Best thing to do? Don't take it personally. Getting "bullied" online is nothing like getting bullied IRL. Whatever happens, I wish you luck. And while this may sound slightly rude and I promise I'm not trying to be... mute your mic. Let your skills say who you are.

I don't fcking care what age you are those ratings exsist so you don't go shooting up a school because "legions" You still have a few more years, get the -blam!- out.
-
Hey don't worry
every body hates my voice
-
I'm 32. I don't like playing with kids. I don't abuse, shout at or insult them. If they are mic'd up and annoying I either leave or ask them to be more considerate, and if they can't do that then it's das boot for them I'm afraid. That goes for all ages mind you. That said, that was a well thought out post that showed a level of maturity that most who post on here, so congratulations for that! It's a rare thing to find on the internet let alone the cess pool of hate these forums can be. I still won't raid with you thou but good luck putting together a team. Maybe someone suggested making your own clan?

You said "dick" and you're only 12
-
Don't even worry kid, even if u not as good as others in don't mind. If u not rude or annoying ur good on my list
-
I don't mind speakers if they don't whine when they die because that gets annoying fast, otherwise I don't care
-
I'd help you out with whatever you want. You did something most adults can't even do.
Use paragraphs.
-
The real question is do they kick you solely because you are a squeaker or are you bad and being a squeaker is just another reason to kick you?

Edited by KneelBeforeFish: 5/7/2015 10:53:17 PMRequirements for kids: 1. No bragging about how important you are Ex. "I have a max Gjallarhorn so... You guys totally need me." Actually this goes for everyone. You won't be so high and mighty when I give you das boot. 2. Don't be bad 3. Don't be annoying 4. List of unacceptable terms to say (Unless I na joking way): MLG Swag No-scope Quick-scope 420 5. And for the love of all that is holy, I can't be the only one that gets slightly bothered when a little child drops an N-bomb

There is an 11 year old that I help out in a weekly basis. He was 10 when I met him in TDB and he is very polite, conservative, and is actually pretty good. I have even joined a raid full of "squeakers" and completed the entire raid without kicking them or being a bully. Don't get me wrong u wanted to tell them to Stfu and teach them how to actually play but instead I played Pandora music really loud and just did my job.

Has it crossed your mind that adults wanna play with other adults? Its a largely adult community so instead of whining about it on a forum, just tell ppl your age BEFORE you friend them, that way you can play with kids your own age and the adults can do the same, not trying to be nasty but I always kick anyone your age from my fireteam, I'm old enough to be your dad and can't think of anything worse than being stuck in a lobby full of kids
-
I play with people who are probably 5 years older than me and they don't give a shit. But that's probably mostly cause I'm 15 and my voice isn't high...
-
I give them a chance and will stick it out. I'll bite my tongue if we need them to help and they're good. A fair few of them are ok. Sadly, many of them are more of a hindrance than a help... Screaming, talking over everyone, dying over and over... Some of them can't seem to handle the fact Im a girl (very few fall into this category, thank goodness) I shall not judge them on their voice, but their actions. Sadly most of their actions are irritating...
-
I'm 13 but ppl think I'm 15 and I don't tell them otherwise
-
Don't you have a father who's not coming back to look for?
-
Just make your own fireteams and write kids under 15 only. Problem solved. Make a clan "sqeakers united". I normally kick kids because they dont listen to team plans or talk forever and hate their voice. I do give kids a chance and sometimes it end up allright
-
If I wanted to play with kids, I'd have become a priest.
-
Puberty was good to me. I sound like a 15-16 year old on the mike. I'm 13 as well.
-
Its a shame your not on ps.. i would invite you in a heartbeat. My son and i play.. your one of the responsible players in that age bracket, i feel bad that your are lumped in.

My issue with "squeekers" is this. First off they all have turtle beach, or the like, headsets and do nothing but scream in them. Second, the give us a play by play of EVERYTHING their doing. We dont need that. They cant seem to follow the simplest instructions, the cause us to wipe and start screaming into their mics again. They expect to be carried through everything. The refuse to put the work in, farming items, leveling up gear, etc. And lastly when your nice enough to carry them through something, they become ungrateful little bastards, and just leave without saying a word. If you claim not to be like this, sorry for your luck. As the old saying goes, " one apple can spoil the whole bunch."
