Hello I am a 13 year old gamer and I play Destiny. When I join someone or go on raids I am Called "Squeaker".
I am apparently someone to laugh at and abuse for being 2 years younger then another person. About 1 in 15 people are nice and don't care. When I need help with a Raid I invite people and ask people for help, then I am abused because I am 13 and have a voice that is kind of high.
I play with 6-9 year old's if they need help... most other people just bully them and ruin the experience of Communication on this awesome MMO. I love Destiny it is fascinating and enjoyable... but about 70% of the community are bullies towards "Little Kids". If you don't want to play with someone because they have a voice that you absolutely can't stand, don't be a Bully just say "Sorry I really don't want to do this... I want to do other things" as appose to hurting feelings and being a dick.
You were a kid once whats wrong with it?
If they are screaming in the microphone and being really Annoying then give them a chance tell them your gonna kick them if they keep going, then if they keep going don't retaliate just be chill and say "Hey you had your warning... sorry your being kicked".
The thread is about people being bullies after they say a few words in a high voice. Also if they try to be funny don't laugh and say that wasn't really that funny try something else. About 4 years ago I got Xbox with COD and I did these things to so I can understand why people gave them this reputation. I feel it should be changed a little bit. Fighting fire with fire never works out it's just a waste of time.
If this is changed I would think Destiny would be more inviting and people under 14 would enjoy it a lot more!
Also shut up about ratings. Look at the movies people sneak in all the time your not gonna stop anything.
In Australia you are allowed to play it so you can't say crap about kids from Aussie. Think of something without involving ratings or do you need to rely on them?
Australia has different spelling and grammar and I am 13 get off my case.
My issue with "squeekers" is this. First off they all have turtle beach, or the like, headsets and do nothing but scream in them. Second, the give us a play by play of EVERYTHING their doing. We dont need that. They cant seem to follow the simplest instructions, the cause us to wipe and start screaming into their mics again. They expect to be carried through everything. The refuse to put the work in, farming items, leveling up gear, etc. And lastly when your nice enough to carry them through something, they become ungrateful little bastards, and just leave without saying a word. If you claim not to be like this, sorry for your luck. As the old saying goes, " one apple can spoil the whole bunch."

I honestly can't say I've met a squeaker who doesn't rage or scream or make the team fail
-
I have the exact same situation, that's why I've done 0 raids, 4 POE, and no trials of Osiris, not even a single nightfall
-
Holy shit STFU KID
-
If I bump into anyone below the age limit for said game, they can -blam!- off.
-
The best sword bearer I've ever played with was a squeaker.

Same thing happens to me. Join a raid, Poe, or trials team. Leader: "Hello" Me: "Hello" in my high voice Awkward Silence Xbox: "You have been kicked from the Xbox live party" This has only happened to me a few times but it bothers me that they don't give me a chance to prove myself on the battlefield.

I'm. Old and i don't mind some. Squeakers. I try and help everyone. I had help when i first started play and have seen squeakers play better then a lot of ppl and its all in fun when we call yas squeakers

I am not a bully. Got a kid in my clan who's only 13 and he's a beast. Sure his voice may be kiddish, but it's not his fault. If you're sitting there raging every 2 seconds with your squeaky voice, then of course older guys will get annoyed. My biggest advice is to just play smart, be laid bad and just be yourself. You'll run into others guardians like myself. I'm 21 and in college, btw.

My voice didnt drop till I was 15 but i learned to deal with it by not talking and following directions

If your on ps4 I'll help you out unless you become that annoying little kid. For instance I've had a kid scream at me because there wasn't enough room in the raid for him. This was a 8-10 year old who I helped go from level 24-28 and explained to him basically how the game worked. I also helped a younger player get from 28-31. I allowed these kids in my fire teams provided I had room but I will not tolerate some spoiled little f u c k yell at me through a microphone. Nor spamming me with party invites while I'm doing some other activities than helping them. No your place respect your peers and remember anxious can come off as annoying.

You have very well written English for a 13 year old
-
It's more the way that they will behave in-game that bothers me. -Constantly ranting during the game with their high pitched voice(I want in Crucible and mid-way through the match a squeaker decides to join team chat and all he's talking about is random sh*t with his buddy that's watching him play, maybe little brother. It made me want to leave) -Getting overly excited about accomplishments that are completely underwhelming -Trying to brag about a bunch of exotics and trying to make themselves seem unique(damn special snowflakes!!)
-
Age doesn't matter. But if you can't shut your mouth long enough to take a breath, I'm out. Unfortunately for you, lots of young ones have diarrhea of the mouth so you are lumped in with that age group.

I'm 13 too, but I can feel where a lot of adults are coming from. Yesterday, I was doing VoG and the fire team leader lagged out, and a squeaker (About 9 I think) is made the leader. We continue on, then when we get to gorgons, we suddenly all get sent to orbit and we're on our way to Crotas End. We get mad and ask him what happened. His reply was "I got bored, and I haven't done Crota yet. Will you guys help me?" And this was a level 27

6-9 year olds? Wtf!
-
13yrs old and still a squeaker? Grow a pair.
-
Kids have left a salty taste in many peoples mouths in destiny. -kicking from raids at boss to bring friends in -kicking at skolas to bring friends in -blaming everyone for sucking when they actually suck -acting like know it alls Just a few examples of why most wont play with them. I do carry the odd squeaker in raids, but under the condition they don't talk.
-
Is it bullying to say things as they are? Kids have squeaky voices. That's just a fact. Kids are little, also a fact. Some people can't deal with that obviously, that's their problem. It's like hearing someone who inhaled helium talk over a (crappy) microphone. Some don't care about it, some find it hilarious. Best you can do is keeping the chit chat to a minimum. I mean, they're raids. How much talking would you do anyway. During raids or PoE all I say is the initial "hey" and the occasional "2 minutes till synth" or "1 minute till supers ready". You don't have to comment on everything you do while raiding. That's something I personally find annoying, regardless of who is on the other end.
on this awesome MMO.
You lost me, right there.

Destiny is not a true mmo
-
Well I'm probably your dads age or older and usually don't care if you're a squeaker. Don't freak the -blam!- out when you die, pay attention and do a lot less talking with more listening. Either way I wont complain about you, I would just drop out.
-
Maybe it's because your a 32.
-
I find that younger players (not all but many of them) tend to use the Apple iPhone earbuds from around the home when they play and all I hear is a high pitched feedback squeak. Drives me insane

Be silent and follow directions. Nobody will know the difference. Your voice will be painful until you hit puberty. You could also try developing a better vocabulary.
