Hate Against Kids (Rant)
Hello I am a [u]13 year old[/u] gamer and I play [b]Destiny[/b]. When I join someone or go on [b]raids [/b]I am Called "[i]Squeaker[/i]".
I am apparently someone to laugh at and abuse for being [u]2 years[/u] younger then another person. About 1 in 15 people are nice and don't care. When I need help with a Raid I invite people and ask people for help, then I am abused because I am [u]13 [/u]and have a voice that is kind of high.
I play with[u] 6-9 year old's[/u] if they need help... most other people just bully them and ruin the experience of Communication on this awesome [b]MMO[/b]. I love [b]Destiny [/b]it is fascinating and enjoyable... but about [b]70%[/b] of the community are bullies towards "Little Kids". If you don't want to play with someone because they have a voice that you absolutely can't stand, don't be a Bully just say "Sorry I really don't want to do this... I want to do other things" as appose to hurting feelings and being a dick.
You were a kid once whats wrong with it?
If they are screaming in the microphone and being really Annoying then give them a chance tell them your gonna kick them if they keep going, then if they keep going don't retaliate just be chill and say "Hey you had your warning... sorry your being kicked".
The thread is about people being bullies after they say a few words in a high voice. Also if they try to be funny don't laugh and say that wasn't really that funny try something else. About 4 years ago I got Xbox with COD and I did these things to so I can understand why people gave them this reputation. I feel it should be changed a little bit. Fighting fire with fire never works out it's just a waste of time.
If this is changed I would think [b]Destiny [/b]would be more inviting and people under [u]14 [/u] would enjoy it a lot more!
Also shut up about ratings. Look at the movies people sneak in all the time your not gonna stop anything.
In Australia you are allowed to play it so you can't say crap about kids from Aussie. Think of something without involving ratings or do you need to rely on them?

Typically I just lower my mic volume and tell my friend to text me if he needs me I'm gonna zone out and carry.

I only ever booted one kid in my entire time on destiny. He kept talking the biggest load of crap with his friends that kept joining the party, one point there was 4 high pitched squeakers all talking at the same time. For everyone else's sanity, I had to boot the kid. Some kids just don't have any consideration for the other players in the party, but the majority are great players who are focused on the raid. But I'll always give people a chance regardless of age.

1 ReplyI'm 14 and sound like 9 over my mic so whenever I join a party and AREN'T in the game, they hate me. Also, I always tend to lead people by telling them what to do because it's my personality, right? Well, I get kicked because they say 'oh I know what to do' or I join before a guy and they say 'oh we already got a guy'. Surely enough, this happened yesterday. That group that said they got another guy were working on skolas for 5 hours yesterday and didn't complete it, whereas I joined ransoms and did it first try. Quite honestly, I don't mind other squeakers as long as they don't scream like I do or absolutely suck, even though they have the gjallarhorn.

I agree, that being a dick towards anyone isn't nice and shouldn't be tolerated. However I have on a few occasions played with younger people and have found them to be extremely irritable. They talk too much, think they now it all and as you've mentioned have high pitched voices. Usually one or two of those things wouldn't bother me too much but all at once? That's when I start to get annoyed and start to loose the ability to hold my tongue. Unfortunately OP you have been labeled and will remain in that demographic until your body changes physically. If you truly need help, are falsely labeled and are on PS4? Then I'd be happy for you to prove me and others wrong by adding me as above and then we shall see who is wrong. I sincerely hope it's me.

So I could care less for kids playing. If they're annoying, I do not hesitate to remove them and any form of communication. I know I'm not the only one.

Only time I have problem with younger players is when they don't follow what everyone else Is doing. If it's a talkative group, talk. If it's not a talkative group, please keep conversation to a minimum. Also, unless specifically asked, don't run the raid. Most everyone knows what they are doing and an over confident child barking orders is a good way to get muted.

5 RepliesMost of the times, kids get bad rap bc they don't contain their loud excitement about [b]anything[/b] that happens in the game. Or they want to brag about the littlest things. Truth is, unless I'm your father or your brother, I don't care. Just play the game and enjoy it, but try to keep it under wraps.

I would play with any "kid" that can form a more coherent thought than most these people. Congrats kid! But its guilty by association, im sure your a great Gaurdian but too many squeakers have ruined it for you. Whether they are annoying or immature over the mic or in gameplay (ie: booting people before rewards, screaming into mic, or my favorite! why? Why? Why? Why? To anything i ask) Bottom line some are cool and i personally try to give them a chance but its hard to be given that chance. I hope everything works out Gaurdian!

If your not annoying then I will play with you but if your 3 years younger than the game rating(M,T,etc) I won't play with you.

4 RepliesI love this thread, I usually go into party's with my voice so low that it sounds unnatural just so I don't get kicked or bullied by somebody who thinks they are better than me because of their age, you were once a kid too people.

ive ha good and bad experiences with the younger crowd... i actually just found out a dude on my friend list is only 16... never woulda guessed... and ive got a few younger kids too... youngest is probly 13... but ive flat booted some kids because they dont follow directions or scream or brag... or straight up lie blatantly.... "i got my thorn from a purple engram"... or "ive killed atheon a million times" followed by "why are there oracles here?" just be mature and kick ass and youll meet a group to kick it with...

17 RepliesSqueakers -Use the word fùck [i]WAY[/i] too much. -Scream into their mics when things go wrong -Always play high music in the backgroud -Can't stick too long due to family, life, brother, curfew, and straight up dinner. -90% think they're your friends 1 min from playing with you. -No one takes them seriously -A group of 3 or more is ALWAYS a bad thing. -Always laugh when everyone laughs....yet they don't get the joke. -They get annoyed easily -Most of us are limited to what we can say around them, rendering us to have less fun. -They have problems we don't understand. -Most of them have overrated mics.....meaning as soons as they connect to your party, you'll sufer from hearing loss. -They are obnoxious -They laugh at very stupid shit -They don't understand destiny lore -They mispronounce a lot of things -People are less acceptant to ateam full of squeakers, than a team of 16+ Either way it all depends on the personality of that person.

8 RepliesOkay. Let me explain it in the most blunt and honest way possible. "Squeakers" are annoying. More than half the time when they join the group, they're the reason the group messes up. I.e. Gorgons maze. "Omg guys I'm sorry I got caught!" ...."why did you go by yourself?"/"why didn't you wait for us?" -.- or they're very very and I mean very boastful. To the point of obnoxiousness. "I beat skolas in thirty seconds with my last group!"....that's great you're now with a new group. Worry about this one or just go back to your old group. Or "I CAN BEAT CROTA IN ONE SWORD" *group proceeds to banish oversoul for the fifteenth time*. And then when they curse. "SHUT THE -blam!- UP!" Dude...pretty sure you're a 12 year old. Why are you talking like that? Cursing more than an actual adult with anger management issues. ....now keep aware this isn't against you. I'm just explaining my point of view on things. Usually when a "squeaker" lands on my group I give the benefit of the doubt and we carry on. But more than half the time....well yeah the things I mentioned basically happen....still remembering how I practically one manned vaults of glass for a group.
