Hate Against Kids (Rant)
Hello I am a [u]13 year old[/u] gamer and I play [b]Destiny[/b]. When I join someone or go on [b]raids [/b]I am Called "[i]Squeaker[/i]".
I am apparently someone to laugh at and abuse for being [u]2 years[/u] younger then another person. About 1 in 15 people are nice and don't care. When I need help with a Raid I invite people and ask people for help, then I am abused because I am [u]13 [/u]and have a voice that is kind of high.
I play with[u] 6-9 year old's[/u] if they need help... most other people just bully them and ruin the experience of Communication on this awesome [b]MMO[/b]. I love [b]Destiny [/b]it is fascinating and enjoyable... but about [b]70%[/b] of the community are bullies towards "Little Kids". If you don't want to play with someone because they have a voice that you absolutely can't stand, don't be a Bully just say "Sorry I really don't want to do this... I want to do other things" as appose to hurting feelings and being a dick.
You were a kid once whats wrong with it?
If they are screaming in the microphone and being really Annoying then give them a chance tell them your gonna kick them if they keep going, then if they keep going don't retaliate just be chill and say "Hey you had your warning... sorry your being kicked".
The thread is about people being bullies after they say a few words in a high voice. Also if they try to be funny don't laugh and say that wasn't really that funny try something else. About 4 years ago I got Xbox with COD and I did these things to so I can understand why people gave them this reputation. I feel it should be changed a little bit. Fighting fire with fire never works out it's just a waste of time.
If this is changed I would think [b]Destiny [/b]would be more inviting and people under [u]14 [/u] would enjoy it a lot more!
Also shut up about ratings. Look at the movies people sneak in all the time your not gonna stop anything.
In Australia you are allowed to play it so you can't say crap about kids from Aussie. Think of something without involving ratings or do you need to rely on them?

My story is not special but I'm telling it anyway :) I reached 32 when I did because of a 14 yo from england. Ran my first crota run and he showed me the ropes. He brought me back and solo'd most of crota a few times to help level my first 32. He runs sword like a champ and routinely gets more kills than I do. When we run crucible.... If I end a match at 1.2 he is 1.8. He is all around better at this game than myself and many other adults I have played with. Age doesn't matter. It's how you handle yourself that defines your character. If someone is giving you crap over your age, then ignore them or leave group. They don't matter and are likely immature themselves. We have all had bad experiences with players of all ages... you squeakers just tend to be easier to single out. Don't let them get to you. :)

I would play with you as long as you know what you're doing ...I can't get anyone to do a raid with me cuz it's my first time. How the hell am I supposed to learn how to do it if I don't get a chance to? besides youtube

I play Destiny regularly with a 14 year old and recently some of his peers and he is great and some of them are tolerable.

Bro I understand how you feel. But squeakers are not the problem. If you want to know the reason for all this hate it would be squeakers saying they know more. I understand that sometimes is the case, but most adults will accept that or the squeaker doesn't have a clue how to play well. I respect your anger, but remember this hate was caused by little kids messing up or adults being to proud, it is a mixture of the faults of both parties not just the adults.

Hell I don't care if you're not even that good or experienced. What I can't stand is the yelling,singing of shitty music,interruptions and just a plain failure to listen and work as a team.

I have see it all here. Most under 12 are the same bratty shits. 16 and up there is both good and bad. I'm 20 and play with a bit of everyone and i say 16 is boarder line for most with exceptions.

As much as people can be dinks and you probably don't deserve their crapy attitudes and abuse. As an adultl I don't want to playwith kids as they are kids and not adults, so not my peer group. Being an adult I have to take somewhat of a reposnsible attitude and tone down my more 'adult' language. As Destiny is where I go to for my entertainment I dotn't see why I have to play in kiddy safe mode, just because squekers want to play. TBH Play with people your own age, especially when young. Playing with people too far outside yourownage group(unless friendof a frined or related) isactually more odd. Can't you play the game with your own peers?

1 ReplyPeople should be respectful to everyone. There is a 14 yo that is one of the best gamers in our clan. He can solo Crota normal. He's mature and respectful. I've learned a lot from him. I'm a soccer coach of youngsters that helps kids of all ages. I set the ground rules early. If they don't behave then I tell them what I expect. If they ignore repeated warnings then they get removed from my friend's list but I tell them why. With all that said, older teenagers can be worse. It still comes down to respect.

YOU clearly don't know what makes a kid annoying, I don't care if you have a high voice, if you are in my fireteam, there will probably be profanity, and if you can't handle it get out, but don't interrupt all the time. That is the main thing, interrupting, "i know more than everyone else so listen to me" stfu already, it's about maturity not how high pitched your voice is. This post doesn't help at all

8 RepliesProblems with most of the kids I have met. 1: Loud 2: Asks then don't listen, leads to wipes etc 3: Uses words phrases and curses when they have no idea about the meaning of what they are saying. But I have met a FEW that doesnt try to act cool or belive that they are older then they are. They are just as skilled as any adult, then I don't care about your age.

well it's a teen related game. So people younger then that shouldn't be playing it. Personally I don't have an issue with kids. I don't talk with randoms in general though.

First off...and im not big on following certain laws, but you're not old enough to play...but more importantly, in my experiences kids just talk and talk then yell in the mic then talk some more...when i was a kid we didnt speak unless spoken too, but kids these days OWN their parents

Age means nothing in a game, only how you play. I don't care what your voice sounds like so long as if you take directions and aren't hampering the team. I have a clan member that gets over excited and screams into the mic, it's annoying if anyone, higher voice or not, screams. Simple solution no one scream. I would be upset too if my team told me never to talk because I am 29 and have a higher voice naturally. I have also been called squeaker by ransoms, I don't tolerate it and simply leave.

1. If you are 6-9 you shouldnt be playing a shooter even if it is rated teen 2. There are some that are ok but from experience most die so easily and screw over the other team, are really annoying and are really rude There was a group i was with then he left to go to the washroom and his brother came on,somewhere around 12, and started swearing and being unbearable, everyone left instantly 3. They think they are so good and like to brag about a gun but when you have better they get really mad, happened 5 times so far Now i am not saying all kids are the same but there are a lot that dont act socially acceptable

This post is why I only play with adults and have an adult only clan. Can we say 'drama'? I am sure you are a fine, young person; but I have no desire to play games with those that lack maturity.

I was a squeaker gamer once. I usually learn to get over their voice, but yesterday I was in a VoG raid with ALL squeakers, and my god were they terrible. We didn't complete the raid because I was the only person who could use the relic. This game has been out for 8 or so months, how the -blam!- can't you use the relic yet?

I don't want to at games with kids tbh, I'm 45 and would never hang out with youngsters so I don't like to when playing games. I tend to team up with guys aged 25+ But in all honesty, having a young teenage kid talking all the time is just annoying as hell Damn squeakers lol

Your age does NOT matter when playing a game. Its your maturity level. I know some 12 year olds that are more mature then 16 year olds Honestly i cant take the high pitched screaming, so ill either mute them and tell tem they are muted (so they should listen to directions) or they can just calm down a tiny bit Ive met some squeakers who are just awesome, they are amazing at the game and they know they are a squeaker, so they just stay quiet a lot of the time and talk very calmly when they are talking
