Hate Against Kids (Rant)
Hello I am a [u]13 year old[/u] gamer and I play [b]Destiny[/b]. When I join someone or go on [b]raids [/b]I am Called "[i]Squeaker[/i]".
I am apparently someone to laugh at and abuse for being [u]2 years[/u] younger then another person. About 1 in 15 people are nice and don't care. When I need help with a Raid I invite people and ask people for help, then I am abused because I am [u]13 [/u]and have a voice that is kind of high.
I play with[u] 6-9 year old's[/u] if they need help... most other people just bully them and ruin the experience of Communication on this awesome [b]MMO[/b]. I love [b]Destiny [/b]it is fascinating and enjoyable... but about [b]70%[/b] of the community are bullies towards "Little Kids". If you don't want to play with someone because they have a voice that you absolutely can't stand, don't be a Bully just say "Sorry I really don't want to do this... I want to do other things" as appose to hurting feelings and being a dick.
You were a kid once whats wrong with it?
If they are screaming in the microphone and being really Annoying then give them a chance tell them your gonna kick them if they keep going, then if they keep going don't retaliate just be chill and say "Hey you had your warning... sorry your being kicked".
The thread is about people being bullies after they say a few words in a high voice. Also if they try to be funny don't laugh and say that wasn't really that funny try something else. About 4 years ago I got Xbox with COD and I did these things to so I can understand why people gave them this reputation. I feel it should be changed a little bit. Fighting fire with fire never works out it's just a waste of time.
If this is changed I would think [b]Destiny [/b]would be more inviting and people under [u]14 [/u] would enjoy it a lot more!
Also shut up about ratings. Look at the movies people sneak in all the time your not gonna stop anything.
In Australia you are allowed to play it so you can't say crap about kids from Aussie. Think of something without involving ratings or do you need to rely on them?

Your age does NOT matter when playing a game. Its your maturity level. I know some 12 year olds that are more mature then 16 year olds Honestly i cant take the high pitched screaming, so ill either mute them and tell tem they are muted (so they should listen to directions) or they can just calm down a tiny bit Ive met some squeakers who are just awesome, they are amazing at the game and they know they are a squeaker, so they just stay quiet a lot of the time and talk very calmly when they are talking

I honestly don't care if Destiny is more inviting to the under 14 crowd. When I have time to play Destiny it's usually a part of the day where I actually get a break from kids so when I log in the last thing I want is to have to listen to a kid, who isn't mine, prattle on about all their kid stuff.

I really don't care unless someone is trying to tell me what to do over and over. As long as you can hold your own I don't care - just don't be an immature jerk and constantly insult/berate other people, even if they aren't in the team. I won't stand for that.

1 Replyyou are correct, in the sense that people are often rude to younger kids. the nice people tend to stay away from that situation because they dont want to be involved in something that they dont want to be involved in (lol). as for being called a squeaker by 15 year olds, its a phase for most boys or adolesecnts, trying to act tough and be cool etc. its rude yes, but if your going to get upset at it i would emplore you to find a group of kids you do get along with and try to ride along with them. this is obvious and im sure youve thought of it, have you tried finding a younger clan or something that is geared towards your age? im sure your well aware but i do believe the rating is M for mature, meaning you should be older and ifyour not, you might get upset at some things in the game. also, if your group is unhappy with your voice or attitude or just your age, dont tell them or dont talk to them. be in the raid with your group, but talk to anothwr group via party chat (or whatever ps3/4 has). this might not be favourable but if they cant figure out your a squeaker or a young person they will have no reason to kick you. that seems a bit out of the way now that i write it, but sometimes you gotta meet people half way. im sure they dont login and think "hey wheres a 12 year old so i can give him a hard time" but i know that they will if the chance arises, dont give them tht chance.

I'm guessing the majority of players have kids of this age and it makes me wonder if you speak to your own children like some of these kids get spoken to on here. If you have no patience for them then move along, there is no need to be nasty. No wonder kids are growing up with a chip on their shoulder with some 'adults' attitudes towards them. Granted, I'm sure there are young players (probably too young) that are annoying, but really? Who is the adult? Yes you are, not him. He's 13 for gods sake, he's just venting how he feels and good for him. Picking holes in what he says or his grammar is a bit cheap.

I play with kids all the time. I don't care how old they are, but they do need to talk less. They come across as know it alls sometimes, or just too chatty. Other then the chattering and not listening, I don't care. A lot of them are really good, so I never kick them. Raiding with a group led by a kid, not enjoyable usually, but sometimes it gets done.

Hey buddy, welcome to online gaming. It will never change. People can say anything with no consequences. This is unfortunate, but true. When you grow up you won't be a squeaker, but you will be called many other things. And if you play to much then your a loser with no life and if you don't play enough then your a scrub noob. It's the only constant in online gaming. Your ganna have to learn to just ignore it.

I feel like some kids are ok to play with. Im sure you're fine. People like hating on each other. Dont give up playing dude! Just throw it right back at them. When I was 12 I raided in 40 man groups as main tank and coordinated all the other tanks. When I yelled at people in my "squeeker" voice people shut up and paid attention. Age doesnt mean a thing if your mature. My advice is to start your own groups, be a leader, and dont take crap from anyone who wants to hate on you for the sole reason of being young (and stay in school so you don't end up in a job like the people hating on you because they messed up in life and regret where they ended up :-) ).

It's not the voice alone that's annoying, it's not shutting the hell up at all, constant talking to yourself/singing to yourself, most kids I've played with there's always some sort of yelling in the background that is unbelievably annoying. But some squeakers I play with are pretty cool.
